could be an lim gasket leak... or a failed valve in your brake booster vacuum line..

Maybe it's the higher fuel pressure under full throttle that is causing this noticeable leak. Do a fuel pressure test with the car parked and the engine shut off. The owner's manual gives the details. This will allow you to test the fuel system at pressure up to about 70 psi.

vacuum line that runs from the brake booster to the firewall..
there should be a check valve there... my source of fuel smell was the lack of it..
previous owner replaced the hose without the valve...

search for posts on fuel smell made by Mahjik

could be the aluminum check valve is bad, fuel pulsation dampener leaking, injectors leaking or something else.

either way, be careful driving the car, buy a fire extinguisher and keep it in the car and get it fixed asap to eliminate the risk of an underhood fire.

If the vacuum booster check valve is bad you cannot apply the brakes while under boost! You are not as strong as the boost multiplied in the brake booster. This would, of course, only impact you if your throttle stuck open and you tried to slow the car with the brake pedal, instead of switching off the ignition.

I wonder if a failure of this valve also results in a "ticking" sound while under boost? Maybe I'd better check mine, as I just purchased a "Mityvac" hand vacuum pump.

if it smells like gas under boost look into leaking injector grommets that seal the primary especially, to the block and as said a lim gasket leak

I checked primary and secondary injectors ans fuel rails... there is no leak.
The aluminium check valve is fine too.

I've got brakes all the time... under boost or not.
