New toy for 550..

What would be a good next mod, that the "butt dyno" will feel? I was thinking pullies and some other little thing, but I have read that they are not very noticable on the "butt dyno" and something about coolant problems arise with them (not 100% sure, my memory is falling me already!) So what would you do?

keep saving and buy a computer..you can up your boost...(That should be your next mod anyway after looking at your mod list). If you don't the next thing you'll be buying is a motor..

Yeah, I noticed the exact same thing, you need to be gettin (ie power fc). You'll notice plenty of a change on the butt dyno. While you at it don't forget to get larger secondaries and a high flow fuel pump or you'll have to regulate the boost because will those mods you'll be liable to be spending alot more than just a fancy upgrade.

With all that for the butt dyno, you and your keister will be happy.

A C-Note will get you a heat coated M2 downpipe delivered to your door. Good for some butt torque.

His sig says "Full atr exhaust", I assume he's talking from the turbos out...

As far as the question, you won't notice anything on the butt dyno with pulleys. Save for an ECU upgrade, or you could pick up a M2 or Pettit ECU for a little more than $550 (maybe cheaper if you find a used one).

You'll definitely notice something on the butt dyno with an upgraded ECU and a little more boost.

Yup, You need an ECU upgrade before you add anything else.

Option 1: You could do what Garret said and spring for the Power FC. But that will cost 500-600 bucks more that option 2. and the learning curve is steeper(at least from what I've read...) Also, with the PFC you WILL have to get your car tuned on a dyno to "properly" tune your car...and that can run you a few hundred bucks or so I am told. Oh yeah, you will also have to "find" someone who has experience tuning FD's with the PFC and access to a dyno.

Option 2: Here's what I did a year ago as a complete newbie: I bought the M2 re-programmed/re-chipped plug-n-play ECU for $415 used and got a $30 home depot boost controller. This option was a no brainer for me since I knew nothing about fuel map or timing "tuning ".

Now, that I have gotten ALL the BPU's possible. I plan to eventually "graduate" to the Power FC to squeeze out the last remaining ponies by leaning out my a/f ratio.

Yea I already have a manual boost controller. I was thinking ecu after these mods, but I will just save for the ecu first. And yes I have mp, dp, and cb. Thanks..
