I say expose the previous owner. They can't be trusted and the forum should know.

It's this kind of **** that is all too common... and then leads to people claiming how "unreliable" the car is.

I'd be willing to bet that if the entire FD community showed up in one place with their cars, we'd find this kind of thing on more cars than not. Everytime I visit my local FD shop, I see 2-3 total roaches in there with rotted coolant hoses, missing this and that, cracked up interiors. It's pathetic.

I've seen this car up close and personal and it is pretty sad. I'm pretty sure it was trapping like 120-122 mph at rotorfest, so it is pretty fast. Ihor told me that the tuning is horrible, and part throttle/driveability is non-existent. So can I let the cat out of the bag as to who used to own this thing, Mr. Huk ?

I agree completely! I've been seeing this type of thing a LOT nowadays. Especially with the FD's that the noobs appear to be buying. Seems like they get completely ripped off because they have no idea what they're getting themselves into.

I actually had a customer recently who had the worst condition FD I've ever personally seen. Horrible exterior, interior, and toooo many problems under the hood. Whatever he paid for it, I can tell you it was definitely too much.

Anyways, back to this car. I knew it was atleast singled. I still can't imagine paying that much for a trashed car like that.

The tuning isnt't THAT bad, but it leaves alot to be desired. Wide open throttle it pulls pretty hard. The 6 puck clutch and the stumble right off idle makes it difficult to start smoothly. The fans are set to come on way too early. I had them come one when the car wasn't even at 80 degrees so it takes forever to warm up. I'm not going to call anyone out but I am sure you guys can figure out who owned the car and who tuned it.

An rx7 is like a pitbull. There are no bad pitbulls only bad owners. Tuning is key you take care of it and it will take care of you. And just like a pitbull it is not for everybody but to those who love and appreciate them, they will never trade them in for anything else.

LMAO

I love the jack handle or whatever stick that is he used to hold up the hood. I had an extra hoop prop rod and gave it to my customer.

It's unfortunate, but shabbily modified FD's are becoming the norm these days. There are a growing number of new owners that don't put the money, time, and effort into doing things the right way.

Sadly I've seen worse as well....Since my budget for an FD was <10k I saw a ton of garbage cars. I was pretty well prepared going to see these cars so when I asked questions heres some of the responses I got...

"The check engine light doesn't mean anything, just ignore it"
"Yeah its a big hole, but most of the time water doesn't leak through it"
"I didn't need to reconnect those wires"
"10-8-10?"
"One time the gauge started going up but I drove it right home"
"Its just a side seal, you can swap a new one in"

For someone who hasn't done their research, there are plenty of people waiting out there for you pay for their trash. I thought things would be different for the higher priced FDs, especially one thats gone single....I guess not

I found out you buy 10 big mods, and think you got it made then all the fabbing and extras to do it right just keep on going. And if you had a shop do the job most dont want to pay for all the time to do it right. It's not just rx7's that get thrown teogether dsm/hondas/ls1 it takes patience and money$$
