FD gremlins.
I think that there a little gremlins that live in out FD's. They run around after the engine has cooled off and feed on our coolant hoses, AST, and oil lines causing them to rupture. They seem to also like to play with vacum lines puling them off and not putting them on correctly. Its a little known fact but gremlin sweat has been known to react with vacuum lines making them hard and brittle. Its also a little known fact that gremlins hate high preassure. The ones that live in the air intake passageways have been known to gnaw their way out in order to get away from the hight preassure environment.
I think that there are different subspecies of gremlins in our FD's that like to do different things. What do the gremlins if your FD do?

I forgot to mention the ones in the tranny, who seem to have a sweet tooth for the 5th gear syncro. As well as the ones in the suspension that love those tasty bushings.

Well your theroy has a possible point. A guy in KC with a 93 had a J-spec HKS intake and a mouse had eaten through the filter while the car had been sitting all winter and messed up all kinds of ****. It crwled through tons of hoses and lines.

I particularly despise the plastic injesting gremlins. It seems that every piece of plastic interior part has been partially injested at some sort of sub-atomic level. They slowly degradate the stability, usually around where the clips are attached, must be where they congregate while contemplating what to injest next. The best way I've found to exterminate these nasty gremlins is to encase them in 2 part epoxy, kind of like Hans Solo encased in Carbonite (or whatever).

now this thread is refreshing with the comical twist. i like it.
i have the engine burrowing variety. it seems they like to nibble away at my apex seals and weaken them on every engine that gets put into the car!! maybe i should try a different material??
