Thumbs up Couldnt Be Happier

Hey everybody im pretty new here. I purchased my FD about 3 months ago and love it to death. But ever since i purchased my car it had a serious boost problem in only first gear, where it would barely make 5psi max. The other gears it would boost great. But as of last night I installed a PFC w/ Commander, intake system, downpipe, and midpipe. That eliminated the problem completly. I spent so long checking vaccume lines and check valves and apparently it was either a clogged cat, midcat or a bad ecu. Its really confusing to me as to why it would have only affected first gear but it did. But now its like a whole new world being able to boost in first gear and i couldnt be happier.

I want to say thanks for all the great info and write-ups. They deffinetly helped last night

The PFC eliminated my oscilating Idle 700-800 and my mid rpm hesitation. Basically at 1500 - 2000 rpms under light load (0-1/4 throttle), the car would seem to hit fuel cut and the rpms would drop by maybe 500. The car would stutter and not make any power until you go past 1/4 throttle, where the rpms would leap to 2500. I know several other forum members that had this same problem or the 3k hesitation problem. I suspect the culprit is the stock ECU in their cases as well.

The only problem with the PFC is my AC doesnt' work at all. This really isn't that big of an issue since I normally run the car with the relay pulled anyways.

i need to get my ac recharged, but weird thing. the guy i bought it from had it filled and then after a year it stopped getting cold. he had them do a leak test and they found nothing. so i gotta get it recharged. i hope it doesnt leak again. but i guess recharging once a year for cold ac will be ok.
