You SHOULD get in. That way all 3 of us could split shipping, AND I could jack your KS headlights

$379 / 40# = $9.46/lb weight reduction for hatch
$229 / 10# = $22.90/lb weight reduction for lexan window

Yea, I'd be interested in the hatch at 10+ group buy pricing. I think I'll keep the glass window though.

I wonder if it would be even cheaper for 15 or 20 people? I would be interested if it got to at least 10 as well.

Looking at the flex-a-lite.com web site, the part number is 9025b for the 93-95 rear window. Going to the summitracing.com web site, type in 9025b in the "enter summit part #" search area on the left side and it comes up. Order today and it ships on 12/13 for 229.00 +shipping.

I work at a performance shop in medford oregon and I deal with VIS all the time. The guys to talk to there would be ethier "Sunny or Grant". I have tossed around the idea of getting one also. I have there scoot style hood and its bad ***...fitment was perfect and hasnt faded a bit...unlike my POS "mazda speed" style wing from GTP that faded in a month

If it's a larger spoiler, you can prob rip it right out if you go fast enough. Tim and I were discussing that because it's definitely a concern of mine. As per Tim's suggesstion, you can reinforce both mounting points w/ one peice of solid sheet metal/aluminum, or you can get fancy like they did at Pettit, have the spoiler fastened directly to the trunk floor, and using deuz fasteners, have the spoiler be easily removable. I'm kinda leaning toward the 2nd choice, as long as I can get a decent price quote from Mitch Piper

I laughed my *** off (and lost 20 lbs doing so, so I'm almost saving as much weight as the hatch) when I saw that

I just wanted something that would disperse any tension along more of the surface area than just where the spoiler posts would bolt underneath the hatch. That was my idea of having a 1/8 oval piece of aluminum that would connect both posts. Minimal weight added with the aluminum but strengthens the CF hatch area from flexing to much since it it using more area to support the wing.
just an idea.

I am glad to c that others were thinking about the aluminum support to. I was thinking of that also and it would seam that it would help. If you drive an FD u have 2 hit high speeds. So r we doing this thing or what. A quick Q? are all of the hatches being sent out to one person or will they be shiped to us individually at a discount price, cuz i am pretty sure i don't know or live by any of u

I stopped by VIS Racing today in the City of Industry, CA.
They had a showroom adjacent to a warehouse.

Simon had the carbon fiber hatch brought from the warehouse.

It is a very high quality piece. The carbon fiber weaves are straight and the finish is flawless.
No indentation for the wiper was present. However there was a 1/4" sized hole at the middle of the upper part of the hatch which I think corresponds to the rear window washer?

They would not let me take photos - I think they are afraid of possible trademark/copyright infringement.

They promised me digital photos by e-mail.

I could not weigh the hatch since there was no scale there. But to give you an idea, I can hang the hatch from my index finger but not from my pinky. My guess is that it weighs about 15lbs.

They will be selling the carbon fiber hatch at a sale price of $379 plus shipping for one week next week from 11/15 through 11/19. To those that purchase a hood along with the hatch, VIS Racing will give a discount on the hood.

To order, call 626 839-9833 ask for Simon from 9AM to 6PM Pacific Standard Time.

Typical of VIS' CF stuff

Rear window nozzle/sprayer I believe. That's what Grant told me.

They would not let me take photos - I think they are afraid of possible trademark/copyright infringement.
That's what I anticipated, but I didn't wanna seem like a smart-***...

They promised me digital photos by e-mail.
$20 says they'll have VIS embossed all over the pic, set in the background, so you can't edit it out. That's how they have all their pics online, and you can't right-click to save the pics at that.
