Wing? I thought that was a construction platform...you know, the kind that's like a mini elevator?

Just called VIS racing. The hatch costs $578 plus shipping.
Anyone interested in a group purchase discount?

man.... I think it will squeak and all the stuff.... I think this is mainly for race use or show only........ I wouldn't use it for daily driving.... plus I don't think it will dampen sound as well as the stock one either.....

Ditto. I'm not worried about sound/sqeaks etc, since I'm gonna be weighing it down w/ the stock glass AND my TINY spoiler (now that we have Batman's as the set standard of BIG *** wing lol)

I got some group purchase prices from VIS.
But before I go ahead, I need to know how many people are interested and also need approval from Jason.

The guy answering the phones at VIS did not know the weight(I would think that this would be their selling point but I guess I am wrong). He will try to get me the weight by tomorrow.

Just to give you the possibilities:
one hatch = $578 plus shipping
group buy of 5 = $450 plus shipping
group buy of 10= $379 plus shipping

I think that the group buy prices are incredible!

pending interest and approval by RX7forum

Wow that is awesome! 10 people would be great, if the weight in anything close to 8 pounds I'm so in. Pending approval of course! I wonder if they could ship it Greyhound or something to save a little more money? Group buy on FAL hatch glass anyone?
Thanks Mr. Stock!

I'll pass...

Glassman, may I suggest that if you can, get the glass from someplace closer, so you'll save on shipping, or even be able to pick it up (if it's close enough). As for the Greyhound thing, I asked them if they'd do that before, and they basically told me they'd ship it any way I want it shipped...but I remember them saying something about there not being a Greyhound close to them...?? The other concern is, I think the hatch may be too large for Greyhound. The size restrictions they list on their website is "Size: Packages will be accepted for transportation, provided the dimensions of the package are within 30 inches X 47 inches X 82 inches." In general, they really look for one thing: the longest side must be 82" and under. If I had my FD w/ me, I'd measure it real quick...but I don't. Anyone know how long the longest side of the hatch is? (try length AND width for that)

I'd be down if it's 10 people. Can I pick mine up since I live about an hour away?

Could you take a few pictures of the inside where the shocks attach and you attached the interior pieces?

I doubt that we will have 10 people. If you are in San Diego, I doubt that you could get here in 1 hour. But you can pick it up. That is what I am going to do since my work place is only about 30 minutes from them.
Anyway, I will try to get the weight of the hatch posted before formalizing the group buy.

We'll we should be able to get at least 5, I don't think 10 will be all that hard. I could always buy two and sell the other later.

I am definately in at 5 people or 10 people....but of course, I would rather have 10 people buy and I am willing to wait if need be to save the extra $70.

Also....are you talking to Chris at VIS or who? I would like to buy a new hood as well....so if I can get this all done at once to save on shipping, I definately want to.

Let me know.

Scott

yea no problem, i didnt use the hatch shocks though, they were too strong for the hatch, it would push up the corners when i closed it.
