Did you and your friend pay full price or the GB price? Simon said they wouldn't let me pick mine up prior to the receipt of GB payments. I tried calling several times today to find out what the situation is, but no one answered the phone.

 

Did you mail out a money order? I think it's one of those things where you have to call them, they won't call you.
I called the first time (Friday) when the group buy was just starting to have my name put on the list. I inquired about hoods and shipping price, etc... Simon told me he would call me back on the next business day (Monday) to let me know if we had enough people, the final shipping price, and the deal if any on hoods. I gave him my contact information and waited, and waited.
So I called and left a voicemail hoping for a response.
Well, he didn't call back, so I figured I would give another call back and ask what's up?
I had him put me on the list again and told him I would mail out the money order and I mailed it out late last week so he should get it late this week, early next week at the latest.
I would call him back to find out what the deal is.

 

Sorry but I called today and no one answered. I was too busy at work to call a second time. I should have plenty of time tomorrow to call them.

 

Sounds like they weren't really ready for the group buy, setting up all the specifics but hopefully it'll all turn out smooth.

Oh I already called him back and he told me they were swamped, but he confirmed he had my name on the list, and so I told him it's cool, take your time, hit me up when you get to me (he said I was toward the end of the list). Oh and I can't send in a MO yet, since 1) I dunno the shipping price breakdown since I'm getting a bumper @ the same time, and 2) I'm having it shipped to a local guy here...we're shipping together and splitting the costs. I'll give him a call tomarrow or something tho, see what's up.

 

I just got off the phone with Simon. He says that no one in the GB has picked up a hatch from VIS.

So, let's see the pictures of your two hatches.

 

Is the $300 hatch on the 7Parts website identical to the $379 one you all are buying? I am interested in a hatch and a lexan rear window. Possibly a 99 tail if they make that from CF. It's for a street car. How would the light hatch affect subwoofer performance?

 

No this hatch is more of a street hatch, useable by the stock latches and doesn't require custom mounting with fasteners. The $300 hatch on 7Parts is an all out race only hatch where you have to custom mount everything.

 

on a side note, summitracing called and said the lexan was shipped :-)

 

$20 says a CF hatch w/ lexan will shake and rattle like CRAZY w/ a sub in the back. I have a sub in the back, but I'm keepin the stock glass (for weight, tight water seal, and defrost), plus I have a GT wing that'll weigh it down some.

VIS makes a 99spec wing in fiberglass, w/ the blade in CF

I spoke to Simon of VIS Racig today.

The reason why they were not answering the phones yesterday was due to a power outtage.

He has not yet received 8 money orders required to send out the hatches.

I asked about S-MAN's money order and he told me that as far as he knows it has not arrived. But he told me that it may be in Accounting. I will check back tomorrow.

 

I need to send my money order.. I'm waiting one guy to make up his mind.. My order should be 3 hatches.. I'll try to call Simon tomorrow.. but I'm currently in ATL.

 

I put my order in for the FAL window today with Summit and ordered some more AN fittings.
I'll call Simon tomorrow to see if he received my money order yet.

 

anyone know how long it will take to get these fal windows? I put in my order but never saw anything on a tracking number or ship date. ?? anyone??

nope, already got that from jegs :-) lol hahahah
