I've seen the spray tint used and I wouldn't put it on my car, but you're more than welcome to do whatever you want to your own.

Yep, but the problem with any spray-based product is even coverage. To avoid "tiger striping" or banding, you have to do several coats in alternating directions. The problem with a sprayable tint is that after doing so, you'll end up with a very dark coating. Painting a big rear window is quite a bit different than painting Lexan bodies for R/C cars.

I don't know if you have the means available to you or not. You could lay out the tint with a Satajet, Devilbiss or other gun and a good clean source of compressed air. If you keep a 75% pattern overlap you will not get stripes. Cross patterns is not the right way to do this. It will get you there but certainly something you would not see a pro do. Even application will require the gun be set up properly and you need to have a steady robotic hand. Always start and end your strokes at the same point.
I personally would not want to tint my windows with a spray can.

Well, here's some entertainment for this thread. When I picked up my hatch last week, I had to wait by the loading dock for someone to bring it to my truck from the (very large) warehouse. About 30 feet from the door was a large box, my guess is for a hood, with the name ERIC CHEATHAM written in large letters across one side. I tried to get a picture with my phone, but could not get a decent shot. I hope that VIS took a money order or cashier's check

You park your car in a dark parking lot? :-)
Well, could is a bit different than should or would. If the goal is to get a tinted lexan window, and films won't work, spraying is an option. I personally wouldn't do it, but then again I wouldn't use a lexan window in the first place on a street car... and if it was a track car, i wouldn't tint it. I think i've taken 15-pound craps, so I don't see the trade-off being worth it.

Hey Damian, that box for Gargamel was one of a stack. Sorry, but I could not tell how many were in the stack-- they were on edge with the lids facing me. My impression of VIS is that you want to keep calling until you get Simon on the phone. A message to call back won't cut it.
Weird, I got one and I didn't even order one and it looks like a name was blacked out. Something that ends in xxxrta. Must have been a mixup or something, I'll call tomorrow.

lmao tim..u got a free cf hatch?!
Received hatch. (I was one of the first to get in on the group buy and I sent my money order out right away.)
It is perfectly made. I can't wait to get it on. Since mine is a street machine, I am going to stick with the stock glass.
