I'll call Simon tomorrow regarding what the deal is about the money order since he did not mention this upfront.

By the way, I am in if there is a group buy for Panspeed carbon fiber doors.

...and my car is for track-only.

True, but they are a pain in the ***. It should have been stated up front.

Yes & yes. I only mentioned that for the benefit of anyone that does need to get one. My bank charges a flat $5 or $6, but the Post Office only charges $0.90 for up to $500. See the following link for details:

http://www.usps.com/money/sendingmon...rs/welcome.htm

What I failed to mention is that I plan to avoid shipping charges and the money order hassle by picking up my order at VIS and paying cash Of course, if this GB dies over the money orders, I can save some $$ and stay home...

You can get in at the same price of $379 plus shipping if you call this week.
To order, call 626 839-9833 ask for Simon from 9AM to 6PM Pacific Standard Time.

I spoke to Simon today.
He told me that it is the policy of VIS Racing for large group purchase to be made with money order.
He didn't tell me this at the beginning, because he did not know - he is one of the employees there, not one of the owners who make the rules.
So, although I expressed my disappointment in not having been told at the very beginning, there really isn't much that can be done to change that.
So we will have to pay with money order. Sorry about that guys but look at the bright side - it still is a great deal.

Guess I'll have to call and get the money order sent out Friday. Thanks again! I'll see what I can get working for the Carbon Fiber doors. Do you guys care if they are the Carbon Fiber doors, or the Panspeed Fiberglass doors? The fiberglass ones are like half the price and close to the same weight I believe.

Why don't you get the prices for both? Then we can decide.
And why don't you start another thread for it?

If you use the accessories in the doors (power locks, windows, speakers, etc,) it's pointless, since those add a lot of weight to the door. I dunno how much the door stripped weighs tho, stock or CF/fiberglass

I would say if you have a fully gutted interior and lots of other light weight components, then it would.

Removing weight improves handling, acceleration, stopping/braking and fuel consumption. Every little bit helps, even if it is only 40 or 50 pounds here and there.

to my understanding, stripped stock doors and only a few lbs heavier than empty CF or fiberglass doors.

I haven't sent in my payment yet, but I talked to Simon twice...the last time being this past Wednesday. He basically told me he's been swamped, and he has my name and info down, and he's still going through the list. So basically, he'll get to me when he gets to me lol. So it's still going on.

I'll let you when I get some if we don't get a group buy for those!

I sent my payment and expect a hatch out of it. I even went through the trouble of getting the damn money order! They offered me a deal on a hood, but can't justify it with the Holidays and all. You may have or might be able to still get in it if you call Simon, and FedEx a money order or something.

I'm #3 on Simon's list, and my deal is to drive over, pay the full amount in cash, then take one of the hatches in stock. He didn't want a deposit from me.

The last time I spoke with Simon, he indicated I would have to wait until VIS received payments from the people that are mailing in payments. I assume that they will want to have in-hand at least the number of payments that trigger the GB threshold pricing, less the number of people like me who are picking up their hatch. In other words, I'm only waiting on the guys that promised to send a payment.
