Looking forward to seeing what you think. Any plan to run numbers on it after break in?

BNR recommended Steve Kan for tuning, I might take it to him or I might ask Dale to drive while I play with FCedit in the passenger seat, that way he can give his opinion too! I wanted to switch to the greddy vmount after break in and before tuning so I could add A/C back into the car before I went in for tuning. Right now time is an issue, I've been very busy with work and had storm damage threatening to collapse my garage where the FD is stored so this weekend I spent pouring concrete to replace a retaining wall next to my garage.

Promise it'll get there.

Are all of you guys in Flori-bama?? Can't argue more opinions though. Did you by chance ever have the Stage 3's? It would be nice to get a comparison thread going. Biggest question to me is longevity of these in house developed parts compared to the Garrett CHRA's. Also, best of luck with shop repairs! lol

Kan is in Texas, but Dale and I are in the panhandle. BNR is about 2.5 hours north of me. He has some really neat stuff at his shop! I've never had the BNR Stage 3's, but from what I spoke to Brian about they'll run for a long time at 10psi, 20psi might get interesting but he claims it'll take the shaft speed.

That's not too far, especially if you need support, also pretty sweet you were actually able to go there and see the place. If I buy these new stage 2's (which I probably will), I don't think I'll be running it much higher than 10 regardless. I just wonder how that 20% increase in flow will feel compared to stock zenki twins.

Hey all, just an update, my car will be going to Steve Kan for tuning around the second week of August for tuning. Pending any major issues/covid lockdowns I'll have some dyno results soon!.

Speaking of Steve Kan where is he nowadays? He no longer runs his own shop right? Is he still mainly traveling around the country doing tuning sessions? I can't seem to find much info on him I was afraid he might've retired.

He last tuned my FD over 10 years ago toward the end we ran into some fueling issues. Still need the maestro to put the finishing touches on the car (once I properly bring her out of hibernation...lengthy process and set her up right lol)

Steve is still very much in the game. He owns PRT Performance in Lewisville TX. He's only about 15 min from my house. He just got a new Supra and is starting to make some things for that platform too.
@F1blueRx7 if you need anything whilst coordinating bringing the car to Steve let me know, I know it's a challenge doing that from far away sometimes.

^ That's good to know he's still in business, I've been running on his tune from 6 years ago, if I ever do any upgrade I would want him to tune again.

Thanks for the offer. My plan is to drive the car out there with my wife behind me towing my trailer. Car needs some break in miles and the distance is just right.

My wife towing a trailer behind the Tacoma....there's not a lot that could move my stress level to an 11 but that's one of them.

She drives my F-350 dually no problem. I trust her with it and a 20ft empty open bed trailer behind it. Can't even feel it behind here.

The old BNR stage 3's turbo inlet was ported so it's slightly larger than stock; are the newer ones ported also?
If so, did BNR provide bigger gaskets and intake elbow to take advantage of the larger turbo inlet opening?

I don’t have any plans to. I can check them with some calipers later if you’re interested.

I've only got 200 miles on the car so far. Having trouble getting the an lines for the SBG oil coolers to seal properly and not leak oil. I'm short on break in miles at the moment, as soon as I can get it broken in I'm calling Steve. If I can get them sealed up tonight I'll finish the break in miles this weekend and update everyone. So far I can tell you it spools real damn fast. It's a pain in the *** to keep it out of boost when accelerating. I do have a largeish pineapple template streetport thanks to Dale.

Will keep everyone updated!

Well I've run into a snag. Steve is booked out through October. So I'm thinking about either letting FC Tweak auto tune feature do it's thing until Steve is available, or looking at options in South FL.

I am setting something with Mike Lowe. I could see if he is interested in another?.... or you could call him
I will bring along FC tweak and have him street tune. Then a few pulls on dyno. I was planning on mid September

Have you called RJS Performance in Ft Walton? Personally I have not been down there yet, but talking to Carlos on the phone he sounds like he knows his stuff. I know he deals mainly with Microtech and Fuel Tech.

I reached out, they won't tune cars they don't build.
