I saw these the other night I too wanted to know how they compare to the stage 3. The description makes them sound better but stage 2 is less then 3 right lol.

I asked BNR about this, and he said given the choice between Stage 3 and Stage 2, he would go for Stage 2. But that could just be because he wanted to sell a new Stage 2 and not have me get a used Stage 3.

How would one expect these to spool compared to stock?

Went and picked up these bad boys from Brian today. Can't wait to get them on the engine and in the car. Brian and his dad are super nice folks. Above and beyond with service and just hanging out shooting the breeze a bit while he showed me all his personal cars. 10/10 would buy turbos from him again.

Heck yeah, Brian says Hi btw! He also said whenever I'm ready to run 20lbs of boost just go ahead and shorten the actuator rods on the WGs

Side note, he recommended Steve Kan to get these tuned for power/drive-ability. Road trip?

Did you opt for the new exhaust housings?

Turbos look great!

Is that carbon build up on the right or did that thing literally munch some iron off?!
I can't get over that either 1 there is that much carbon build up or 2 it literally munched the iron off the manifold.
You have a boost creep issue before?

Now I'm really curious as to what mine look like...

That is a high mile (~100k miles) exhaust manifold that has see some heat.
For what it's worth I was seeing low boost issues with the stock boost pattern. It was more like 7-6-10 .

That picture is about as bad as I've ever seen. The early turbos had a lot of problems with cracking, some more than others. Once the crack gets going it can continue to erode away.

Enough of a crack around the wastegate and you have low boost issues. The exhaust gasses can go through the crack instead of through the turbo, which results in slow spool and low boost.

Anyone know which model of hot side housing BNR is using with no core?
n3a1s were terrible, n3c1, while being an improvement, still crack. i hope they are using a 3rd model for the new stage 2's.

So the "full new package" stage2 does not require a core anymore?

I think they may be casting their own new turbine housings, not sure though.

Very nice. The first place I'd look if I was replacing my twins.

Needs a core but once you send them, you can purchase new turbine housings for $500 according to the site.

I have a lot of bad words at the moment. None turbo related, but wiring problems with my car that are keeping me from getting it broken in. Having ignition issues with the IGN1a coils and/or powerFC/primary injector circuit problems. I just re-loomed my engine harness removed unused circuits and ohmed out every circuit to rule that out. Putting it back in the car right now, then going to try firing it up again tonight.

Very close to being there!

To answer myself:

I contacted Bryan and asked about this, and the reply was that if i purchased a "Full" kit including the exhaust manifolds, he would supply all the other parts.
For my part who live in europe where shipping a full turbo core to the US would be _expensive_ this is great news.
