Clean low mileage/firm r1 or r2 seats. I'd pay more for R2 because both seats have pockets.

A nice black carpet is 1k these days.

Prices on popular parts have pretty much doubled the last 5 years.

I used to sell steering racks for 150 now they are 300 plus if you can even find one.

RHD parts (specific to those cars like pedals, carpet, steering rack etc..) are still a dime a dozen which is just one more reason why RHD cars are less expensive.

All the interior plastics are probably still available for RHD. That'd be pretty tempting.

it's tempting me right now even though i'm not crazy about the RHD idea. ideally i'd like to pick up a black on black base or r in good condition that i would not feel bad about modifying.

i would love to buy that car but at that price i need to finance and the seller does not want to deal with it. it has been up for a while so i was thinking about messaging him again to see if he changed his mind at all. i'm all set up through jj best banc and he would just need to have a quick conversation with them and send some document copies.

*edit*

never mind the car disappeared today.

Spring, and Bring a Trailer’s fancy turns to FDs!

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1994-mazda-rx-7-25/

MB over black base model with 71k miles. Original owner. Looks pretty decent for mileage.

I’ll guess $24,500.

Way too many miles but no doubt a great one owner car.

I'll say 27k on this one, IF he post good compression, otherwise 25k.

Remember the very clean 95 PEP with 41k miles this 94 could sell for more because it's a base model. Non sunroof cars are worth more. TRUST ME!

Love how he documented everything. All that money spent on maintenance and the spending hasn't even begun on this car. Turbos, bushings, engine etc.... This is why mileage, maint, storage etc.... is sooooo important.

Good point. That said if that's the case I'm not buying a stock FD either

In all seriousness though I buy low mileage FDs to daily drive. Nothing else compares, even at 40k.

Invest in stocks, real estate etc... drive cars

Hi All,

I am coming up on my renewal for my insurance and my policy is based on a stated (but agreed upon) value for my car and I am hoping that the gurus can help me get it right. I'm not quite sure as it has a lot of miles on the chassis, but a brand new engine.

I will be happy to provide more details as needed, but here are the basics:

1993 Vintage Red over Black Touring (w/ R1 spoilers). 89,500 miles. New (from Mazda) engine at 87,000 miles - installed by IR Performance in New Jersey. Lightly modded - Pettit CAI and downpipe, Racing Beat cat-back. PowerFC dyno tuned at IRP. Also has a MazdaSpeed short throw shifter, M2 trailing arms, widefoot throttle pedal adapter and a 51r battery tray (that I got through a group buy here).

Reliability mods: Koyo radiator, silicone vacuum lines, aluminum AST, 180° thermostat, IRP oil pan brace and water pump upgrade.

I'm 3rd owner (since 1999) and I bought the car with 45,000 miles on it. The interior and exterior (picture attached) are in excellent condition. Some light wear on the left bolster of the driver seat (picture attached) and the '93 interior finish only has one small nick (~3 mm) that was there when I bought it.

Any thoughts appreciated and thanks in advance!

At least $25,000 and maybe $30,000 before the summer is out. Nice condition and new engine are +++. Good parts; good pedigree.

You should have it detailed, documented, and appraised. If, you haven't already.

I was hoping you would have been more excited about it, bought it, and in turn become more motivated to sell me that
VR R2 : )

VR R2 : )

After what I'm seeing the VR is now 40k or I'm much less motivated LOL

RHD R1 selling for 30k (31,500 after fees at an frikken auction/just wow) and I'm selling an equivalent or better LHD R2 for 37k. As usual I'm way under market

I'll likely keep what I have for a while unless something really interesting pops up.

Yep it's easily worth 25k but remember insurance is no different than a lottery. Overall they win and you loose. Crunch #s and go with the best financial option.

I have a 94, mostly stock, touring with 61k on the clock and have an agreed policy at $27k. Felt it was a fair value IF the worst were to happen while keeping premiums manageable. As others mentioned, I feel you should be in the $25-30k range dependent on your budget.

I'll also be curious to see the value of FDs that are properly stripped/rebuilt but not necessarily 'restored'.

Solid compression and I'm a buyer at $38k. You've got my contact info should you decide to sell : )

1995 LHD Mostly Stock

1995 PEP mostly stock. Original twins with 83,000 miles never rebuilt with high 90's compression. Interior is almost perfect. Upgrades are minimal but include on engine, silicone vacuum lines, aluminum AST tank, Tanabe exhaust and a high flow fuel pump. I would call it an unmolested survivor. It was driven maybe 1000 miles in the the last 15 years from 2002-2017. Every system has been gone through and cleaned out. I can't imagine selling it but if I did I do wonder what would be offered? Now I think 30 is reasonable but given that its a 1 of 500 imported in 95 and less than 200 left , maybe far less, I feel like it could go for a lot more. Curious what you all think ?

$25-$30k if you get a paint correction and put a stock exhaust, wheels, and turn signals back on.

I believe 25k would be a hard number to reach in the current market. In 2 or 3 years maybe it's an easy sale at 25k. I think you can sell it for 20k without too much headache as is. If you do what Narfle suggest you should get more but time is money. If I was you and you don't need to sell I'd suggest keeping it because you'll probably regret it later. There really aren't any 25k sports cars that compare to this car in both driving experience and beauty.

Here's what's currently on BAT. IMO your car is worth less than this: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1994-mazda-rx-7-25/

And another BAT car that already sold which is similar to your car, BUT has 1/2 the miles: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1995-mazda-rx-7-7/
