How to value your FD
I hope so

It would be nice to break the cycle of losing >50% of the value of every mod I bolt on.........

I feel the right buyer would pay over 50k for Gordon's 3 rotor and as we know a bone stock FD just sold for 49k plus 5 percent so call it 51,500. No doubt that sale just set a whole knew bench mark on FD values but I do expect other cars with similar mileage etc... to sell for 50k or more going forward

If Rich's single turbo car had PS and AC he may get 50k plus etc.... Just really depends upon the car and how the car is modded, who did the work, how it's driven etc.....
Personally I'd buy Pete's car for 40k no questions.
On low mileage cars (say sub 30k miles) I'd say you'd be better off leaving it bone stock or it would be hard to get more and potentially you'd get less. Any bolt on mod can be easily reversed but if I know about it and I'm the buyer I'm paying less for a car that's been returned to stock. Most of a time an experienced FD owner or a car guy in general can see the evidence of engine tampering even if it's just a dent in a nut or screw.

It's deja vu all over again!

Not completely stock, but some reasonable mods - otherwise a virtual twin of the 9,000 mile example that sold last week!

But, it's true that modified cars are going to benefit from the rising prices for stock cars, because it focuses poeple attention on the car. There are many types of buyers out there. Some are collectors of perfect low mile examples and others may just want to have the driving experience and a very nice car. Actually, a more sophisticated buyer in many ways, because they will have to and be able to judge the condition of the car and the quality of the modifications.

Nice to know, Fritz. Then, I'd only lose how much money?

Yeah. We all know about mods. I have my car ensured for what I have in it, though. Thank you Haggerty.
That BAT 93 VR FD with light mods will give us a definitive answer to the mods question. I'm guessing that it will sell pretty close to 45K, and that is only because of slightly higher miles than the 49K one that was 100% stock.
I think most Classic Car insurance writers are aware of the increase. As long as your car is comparable in quality, and you meet their criteria you should not have a problem. If you ask for some crazy stated valuation that they consider above the norm, they may ask for additional photos & justification. I have a clean driving record and multiple cars insured through them, so it’s usually easy to bump the valuation up periodically.

I like that it's no reserve.

LOL.....i believe the mods and mileage could hurt this one but at this point who knows. The market is too wild to make heads or tails of but I for one am having fun watching the FD values rocket higher.

I'm in. I say $36k on this one but I missed by nearly $12k on the last one so who knows. Its still perplexed the tan interior car which I believe was the cleanest example struggled to crack $30k. We all know tan is less desired but I wouldn't have imagined it could have made a $10k difference like it appears it did.
Who is paying these rediculous prices? I swear, collectors are ruining things for enhusiests. I remember when you could get a superbird for less than $20k or an LS6 Chevelle (or equivalant) for less than $10k.
It will make tracking my FD even more stressful

Will be interesting to see how this one does for sure. I do love the fact that he compression tested it and it's no reserve, my kind of seller or he has some *****

The market is trippy though so this thing could easily go for 40k plus. After all a brand new engine is 4250. Just one more cool thing about this great car. It's economical despite all the silly rumors about it not being reliable etc....etc.... from people getting 3rd hand info from those listening outside in the hallway that leads to the actual locker room discussion of car guys who may or may not own a 3rd gen LOL
