Yeah. I thought it was odd that anyone would install a Greddy T78 as an upgrade in 2017. That's about 15 years late. Also, seeing a fire suppression system on a car that lightly modified was surprising. But hey, safety first.
A nice looking car, but a lot of mods that would likely be removed or redone. If they help keep the price down and a buyer is looking for a car to modify, then a good deal.
Heavily modified, some good, some bad. No ABS will hurt the sale for sure. This might end up being a bargain for someone.
I'm sure BAT will fix the bidding.

Also has a Rotary Works throttle body which is straight crap!
No power steering and A/C either
A large percentage of the FD running around up here have some version of these kind of accummulated modifications.
The cost of those mods are not likely recoverable.
So why not purchase a car that someone else has paid for the mods?
This car is headed for RNM, in any event.
Yep RNM. Just too many mods that are way too far in the past and really not appropriate or bad choices. That said the list of people who've worked on it are legends.
Just checked out the listing and there's a drive video. Major rattle, cluster not working/maybe kilometers, but overall seems to run well.
If you want a 500 HP FD probably not a bad choice and if the reserve isn't crazy this thing might sell for 35k. Spend another 20k or so fixing some of the mods etc... and you'll have a pretty badass FD, oh and it's CW

the color match on the front end is bad, the bumper, headlight lids, and right fender are blue, chaste white is yellow....
fenders are at least original, they still have the little JDM tapes on the alignment holes.
hood prop is missing. fan relay bracket is gone, coolant overflow is painted.
its got a lot of neat parts on it, but the buyer would need to spend a lot of time on little details to make it right.
i like it, i can see the potential.
Yep. It beat my price expectation though, probably because it's white.
I don't think this car sold for much of a discount because even if really clean and bone stock with 130k plus miles it may or may not have sold for 40k plus. That said trying to turn a stock car into a single turbo that runs well is pricey so I'm sure the buyer got what they wanted. Congrats to both buyer and seller.
I can't live without, in order of importance:
ABS
PS
AC
I don't like:
Modified fuel lines (i get it, 500 hp which in itself is stupid in anything but a drag car)
no airbag
Non oem cluster that doesn't appear to be working correctly
those hulking red seats but they do look comfy lol
non oem 99 bumper
rear diffuser
modified oil lines and no ducts
kazz diff on the street (noisy and not great in a parking lot)
and that rattle etc...
fire suppression (carry an extinguisher)
Bottomline: probably not a bad deal overall at 41k for a clean 500 hp FD

The Microtech EMS is what cheapened the car the most for me, I had a car with an LTX-8 and it was the worst street driving car I have ever owned. Microtech's are good for one thing only, drag passes.

Not familiar with a Microtech but I hear you if the ECU/tune isn't right that can be a major problem.
Randomly pulled an issue of Sport Compact Car (March, 2003) off the shelf and found an article on the FD. Interesting to hear the magazine's take on the car after 10 years, or so, in the market. Typical problems are mentioned but from a somewhat different angle than what has played out since.
That total number might, or might not, include Canadian market LHD.
Let's see what this one does. Similar mileage to mine, when I purchased in 2020. But with a sunroof and tan interior. Looks like a dealer installed stock wing as well.
AutoThority 850i
DR Motorsports Corvette ZR-1
Lingenfelter Corvette
Peter Farrell Supercars RX-7
RENNtech 500SL
Saleen Mustang
Guess which one had the best lap times!
Also, anyone here own a genuine PFS FD?
Fun read. Thanks for posting.
Anyone notice the testing results on the RX-7? Both braking distance and skidpad grip are worse on the modified car than the stock one, for some reason.
