Nice. My hardtop conversion (and full r1 conversion) thanks to the headliner and tons of other parts I got from you Jim, Fritz, Ray Crowe et al.

Don't throw away your sunroof roof.

I could have one installed if you wish. Used to be big business. What happened with that I wonder?

It's hard to find an OEM one these days. I was just curious if you had it laying around with the cutoff roof panel. I'd much prefer a glass roof over my metal sunroof.

I have a 93 rx7 touring. It has bee.n converted into a r1 but I still have the sun roof. I thought about going hard top. I have no desire to sell my car but I am curious if it would lower the value of my car.

It depends how heavily modified it is already. For someone looking for a near collector or something close to stock I would think it would hurt the value of the car due to the major body work.

Any paint work is going to lower the value of any FD sub 50k miles at this point.

I'd suspect body work would lower it even further.

Over 50k miles, paint work and body work may increase the value depending upon what was done and the quality of the work.

Priceless though for an owner who likes a hard top

My car paint is 10 of 10 but it is a drivers car with 113k on the chasis. I may just buy a hard top just in case I want to change it. I beleive in driving thse cars and enjoying them. With that said if I came across a 50k or lower oem car for a good price I would buy it just to keep it around. Once that 50k car hit a good profitable price I would sell it. I know these cars will continue to increase in price. I saw that GTA just added it to there game. A new generation is now being introduced to this great platform. $$$$ I predict that the average Fd in great shape will cost 50k by 2022. The 50k cars will be more.

113K mile FD with 10 of 10 original paint? My 136K pampered, 1-owner FD has nice, glossy paint, but it's hardly 10 of 10. You must be driving in a protective bubble

The paint is 10 out of 10 but it is not the original paint. The car was my daily driver from 1998 to 2005. The car was painted in 2005 and then again in 2019. The driving in a bunnle is not an option for me😂😂

this is a thing, i brought my FC to the oil change place for an oil change (i have no place for the old oil, they do) and the high school kids that work there went bonkers, they had never seen an FC in real life, just in games, let alone one with the HKS catalog thrown at it...

I agree however in 2023 we may see the debt market implode and people will be unloading cars, campers, houses etc..... The future right now is looking volatile IMO. Prices on everything are anything but stable in any direction.

Collect hard assets and pray that the world for the most part stays a safe happy place.

It "difficult to sell for $25,000 or more" now means, you can't face selling your car for any price in today's market, no less $25,000.

Fritz IMO things are crazy right now with the economy. Cost of living is getting very expensive. I am concerned for sure. I try to be smart and when I dont want to worry about it I take a ride through some curvey roads near me with the Fd and brap on.

YEP

I had my VR R2 for sale 2 years ago for 38k (had 26k miles on it at that time currently has 36k). Now I'm keeping it for a very long time as I can't find any FD that I'd want for anywhere near a reasonable price etc.....

I hear you. I'm still running around town in my FD, playing golf (just got my game back into the 70s), guitar etc..... but I'm taking time off from the track stuff as it takes too much time/$$$$ and energy.

Well, no love for automatic FDs on BAT:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1993-mazda-rx-7-141/

34k miles, silver, pretty peachy looking - and only $26k.

Low miles, mild mods, and auto. IMO that's a sure fire indicator that the people who are buying these cars today are a whole need breed. I mean 5-10 years ago buying an auto was an easy swap away and those mods wouldn't deter anyone.
