Well, the main goal I guess would be to remap it to handle larger injectors, 750cc instead of 550cc, and an upgraded turbo running about 10-12 psi (BNR Stage II). This way I can know that the upper limits of the engine fall well within the envelope of the ECU map. It'd probably be a good idea to increase OMP output along with the additional load. The engine has been streetported and I have a larger exhaust. Wanting to do an upgrade, but retain all the features, instead of removing them. It's not a racecar, just one I enjoy driving. I'm don't know where to start studying on how these work, so I don't know if my ambition exceeds my reach.
I have a spare N326 that I would love to do this mod on. I am going to finish reading this thread to see what I can figure out myself but what would be a good few first steps to installing this mod?
Sorry it's been a while. After that last post, I had one of the busiest years of work I had ever had, and my wife had another baby, etc, etc...
Rat, I plan on pulling the rom chip when I can get ahold of a good desoldering gun. I want to make this process reversible if it doesn't turn out. I did peel the sticker off the edge to identify the rom chip. Here are the specs with photos.S5 TII ECU Rom Chip Identification – IC660 on board
I can desolder it for you if you feel comfortable shipping the unit to me. I have done extensive desoldering work over the years and have a hakko desoldering pump to do it cleanly.

I'd definitely take up the offer above if you haven't done desoldering before or have the equipment for it. It's very easy to make a mess and burn/lift pads if you're not careful.
I suppose now is the time to do so. I'll send you a private message so we can discuss the plan with the ECU and what potential modifications can be made.
Just stumbled acress this topic. pure awesomeness this work!
Would you be willing to share the factor/offset used for the main maps in these denso ecu's? Ive also attached here a EU spec N380 S5 turbo 2 dump.
I do have a knightsports N374 ecu of which I jut read the flash and then find a N374 stock dump to compare it to. the tuned rom gives approx 800 mbar midrange boost. I have a tuned N380 rom also that goes fine apart from the boost being only around 600 mbar. I could run the jap tuned ecu but it runs a rather lean up top which the N380 tuned ROM does not.
I was hoping to find the duty or boost target in the N380 dump and increase it slightly so it would work like the JDM spec N374 tunes roms..
