You should be receiving a completely assembled board, and one blank board. I'll shoot you a link to the wiki as well.

If only it were that easy.... it required a lot more than just service position to get that stupid thing out.

have you looked to see if there are any hardware differences between the NA and TII ecus? It would be pretty sweet if we could change over with a reflash. Also could you shoot me the link to the wiki?

Damn, how did I miss this thread!

Super cool to see you reverse engineer the ecu. I wish I was at that level.

It would be cool to have it run a canbus protocol outlet so stuff like a racepak dash hooked up to it. I've heard haltechs do that.

I really hate adding in extra sensors and want to try and grab signals from the ecu(Temp, boost, etc). I've been wanting to make a lcd touch screen gauge system run by an arduino. That way I can custom write the display and settings.

I'm currently running a S4 TII Rtek 1.7 chipped ecu but would totally buy another ecu to give this a try.

I do basic analog/digital stuff so I can help if you need in some way. I don't know coding very much but mess with arduino and led crap a lot so I work in eagle a bunch.

Any love for the S4 NA yet? I'm not afraid to do some surface mount soldering.

There are some hardware differences between the S4 N/A and TII ECU. However, this is primarily in the sensors/drivers for things such as twin-scroll. If I get the AFM elimination stuff working well, you should be able to use either ECU on a turbo setup. You could probably still get away with it using the AFM by putting in turbo timing tables and adjusting the fuel accordingly.

As for the S4 N/A ECU progress, the boards are the same for each ECU so that part is already done. I have everything else more or less worked out that would be going on the S4 ROM, I just haven't actually sat down and did it yet since nobody is using one.

FYI,Regarding the S4 n/a AFM, you'll max it out with a turbo which could cause tuning issues.

Indeed, from what I've seen they run pretty much maxed at ~5psi @ 6K rpm or so. Of course, that's a poor measurement as it's dealing with CFM rather than pressure, but it's a rough ballpark of where they tend to max. One could always go MAF or something instead...

My car's not turbo. (Crazy, I know.) Right now it's got an rtek 2.0, which is fine for adjusting fuel/timing but i'd like to put some of these now-unused emissions solenoid outputs to better use (aux ports, vdi, etc.)

I've been making slow progress on the S5's. I'm in need of the N370 ROM -- I've got an N374 ROM already. Then i'll just need a S5 TII ECU to work with to locate all the necessary pins for the board modifications and such.

Should have checked this earlier. I have a RTek 2.0 ecu in my Tii right now, i should have the stock rom chip i got back with it('89 tii). I have what should be a stock N370 in my garage if you want me to send it out your way to work with.

Eh... I got one too that I probably won't be using for a while. You can "borrow" it if you need to.

At the moment I'm in need of the ROM dumps more than the ECU themselves.

So now that boards are out and warm, saltless roads are in the near future, will you be providing a link to your interface? I recall you were developing it, but never saw anything on the website for the PCBA's either.

The PC software? Yeah, I'll get a build made and put up on the wiki -- i've been trying to reorganize things to make the eventual S5 addition easier.

Sonic,
Need some clarification, on PAGE 2 of this thread there is no mention of cutting the N332 "Pin 20" on IC604, and on the WIKI it asks to cut "Pin 20" (Or at least the graphic is confusing) There are no leads on the bottom side coming from Pin 20 (counting pins from #1 left to right) Which is correct?
Also, the trace you seem to ask to be cut looks to be the same as the pin we are wiring from Pin 6 on IC610. (Or what I'm considering "Pin 23"))

Can you clarify?

Pin 20 is the pin with the wire soldered to it. There should be a trace coming from that pin moving to the left that will need to be cut.

Any progress on releasing the software? I'm all soldered up and ready to go.

Been rather swamped lately with work, so it's been slow going. I was trying to get some last minute patches in before dropping a version, but it's taking a bit longer than I hoped, so I'll just upload what I've got either tonight or tomorrow. It'll let you datalog/look at various settings/etc. Most of the saving back to the device is disabled currently as I was updating it for S5 support and savable tune support -- and the lack of feedback from a real car has been killer.
