I usually user tunerpro as it is quite versatile for displayign graphs in a more familiar format but as I said I am not in any rush so don't worry about it.
Yeah, I should be able to create a XDF file with the RX7 ECU information that will work in TunerPRO -- whole lot less programming. Just need the emulator to do it.

is there anything you need at this point to start on the S5 ecu's? I'm interested in both n/a and turbo versions.

I still haven't yet picked up a S5 ECU -- been rather busy as of late with a wedding I had to attend, then getting sick when I got back, and getting the S4 boards out the door after I verify they didn't get damaged from a shipping fail. I should have everything out the door this week and be all caught up, so it'll just be a matter of getting ahold of a S5 ECU.

If it helps others out I'd be willing to (temporarily)donate an S5 ECU as I have two that I do not plan to use in the near future, I am going Adaptronic on this build, I have a N374 and a N351 like I said if it helps others out I'd be willing to donate one of them, I am curious if after the ECU is no longer needed would I get it back in working condition?

Do you need the dump from the 28pin chip or is the whole ecu needed? I can easily desolder mine and e-mail it to you. Or do you need the entire ecu?

I'd need an entire ECU -- it should be returnable, albeit in a modified state more than likely (although, I can usually revert it back to stock if desired).

if incubuseva falls through pm me, I have a N370 and likely still a N352(i think thats it...49state vert ecu). My car is running on N370 RTek 2.0 so i can go without it for a while.

I should have an N351 on the way. However, my private messager is all screwed up -- it keeps telling me I have new messages, while no new messages are displayed. Additionally, I never received a message from incubuseva, so I'm not quite sure what's up with that.

In any event, basically the S4 hardware is all done (other than maybe changing to a more readily available NVSRAM module). I'm still updating software and adding in support for the various features, meanwhile the ROM hasn't changed much as of late.

The current TII S4 ROM does the following:
  • Allows AFM Elimination (this needs work, as I currently do not have a basemap nor do I have the values translated to anything useful -- so while it works, it's a bit difficult to understand the values)
  • 20x20 Fuel Correction/Fuel map table
  • Changes timing to MAP based
  • Changes timing to a 20x20 table
  • Increases timing max RPM from 7000 to 8000
  • Secondary Injector RPM set to 3500 (from 3688)
  • Disables/Enables/Adjusts Boost Cut
  • Flood Clear
  • AWS disabled
  • Idle Mixture is used as an auxiliary input (wideband, etc)

My primary focus at the moment is getting all the boards out and in peoples hands so I can broaden the number of people able to test stuff.

While your focus is on finishing and checking the s4 boards that got wet in your original shipment out, any thoughts of taking the idle mixture resistor and making it an adjustment in the ecu. Just a thought for something later on.

I'm not sure what you mean... do you mean being able to specify th variable resistor settings via the software? That would be somewhat pointless, as you can adjust the fuel map itself directly -- so there's no more need for a fuel correction value that effects everything.

Well, after a string of more bad luck on my only car for winter, I dropped off all the remaining boards at the post office yesterday. I'll be getting out tracking information shortly.

In other news, I've been a bit busy redesigning. Due to the unavailability of the nvSRAM modules I've began completely revising the board design. I've moved to almost exclusively using surface mount hardware as there are way too many issues with space using the large UART, EPROM, etc. As a result, I reduced the board size to almost 1/3rd of my original design. Also, I've moved to a much more widely available nvsram module.

Alternatively, I may play around with another design that uses two normal EEPROM's (PLCC, to save on size), and simply uses a 64kbit rom to hold the serial communications and just perform writes on the other eprom from there. This would resolve any issues with finding the nvsram modules.

Additionally, I've reorganized and cleaned up my code quite a bit and simplified tasks. Also, I've finished most of the ROM changes to enable all of the various additional features. There are still some things I would like to get better -- such as cranking fuel, air/water fuel correction, etc.

Also, since I do not have an FC "basemap" built from the stock ECU -- AFM elimination will not be enabled until I can get someone to datalog enough data to build a basemap.

Yikes, surface mount seems unpleasant to solder up by hand.

First, bad plug wires, followed shortly thereafter by the alternator going. Not a fun task on a Audi A4 with the 2.8L -- had to rip half the engine bay apart to get to it!

Yeah -- I can do the surface mount soldering for most people; however, this just made it infinitely easier to deal with the difficulty in getting ahold of an NVSRAM module that actually fits, while also fitting the rest of the components on. Plus -- you already would have to do some form of surface mount to deal with the USB interface. The designs for the old board still exists, so if people really want to do it that way they still can. I just much rather the SMD setup -- it's cheaper and fits way better, plus uses easily available components straight from digikey.

Cool to hear that S5 work seems poised to go ahead, I lost track of this thread for a while... I'm quite interested, have an S5 NA, and my class rules allow a modified stock ecu, but not stand, which has meant RTek has been the only option to consider thus far.

Yeah, I'll be ripping into the S5 NA ECU here in the next couple of days. The first order of business is mapping out the hardware addressing, then I can work in my basic serial communications protocol to read/poke around in the memory and isolate variables. I'm also working on making a wiki to consolidate information and help keep things organized so there aren't a bunch of outdated schematics/build lists/etc floating around a thread to confuse people.

New board revisions showed up today. They are considerably easier to use than the old style, as they take up much less room.

Hey, received the board this week. Since I had none of the SMT soldered, is there a diagram/picture I could get to figure out what goes where?
