Sat for 2 years eh?
After a compression test i would do the following.
New fuel lines, filter and fuel.
Deflood engine and add two spoon full of MMO(marvel mystery oil) into each lower spark plug hole. Turn engine over by hand with spark plugs out to get the MMO all around the seals. This will help seal and build compression for start up. Make sure your spark plugs are good.
MAKE SURE YOUR BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED AND NOT WEAK!
Now when you go to start the engine do not give it gas. These fuel injected rotarys should start on there own without giving it gas.
Keep us updated on how it goes.

Did you try MMO?
Yeah most likely trying to jump it maybe pretty weak. Sat for 2 years, battery could be done. I'd buy a new battery while your at it, or use a car battery charger and charge it over night.
Edit:
Are you getting 3 even bounces on each rotor?
Whats your total compression #'s with the valve open and closed.

i wouldn't buy a battery until you know the engine is worth anything.
otherwise you'll be stuck with an $80 bettery, and a useless engine.
just get a charger, and keep the charger on while trying to start the car.
is the car flooded? how do you know your getting air, fuel, spark?

Father in law? The only thing my father in law ever gave me was a pain in the ***. :/
You could also pull it to start-long rope, pull it about 5-10 mph with another car, 2nd gear and pop the clutch.
If the car is going to start, this will start it everytime. Just be careful not to rear end the pulling vehicle.
BTW, why did your father in law park the car-does he remember any specific problem or issue?

ok i got the car starting on its own today. the problem is that i have to turn my fuel cut off switch on so that no fuel is reaching the injectors and then turn it off to allow fuel in then it starts and hits 1500rpm and then stalls out and wont start unless I turn the fuel off again. so i figure its flooding out and stalling or not getting enough air is there a way to check the AFM for a problem? any other ideas??
