88 GXL auto to manual.

Problem started a little over a week ago.. I'd hit the secondary transition at 3,800 revs and I'd go through the windscreen like hitting fuel cut. Now it is permanent. My idle quality has also severely deteriorated since this started happening consistently.

- injectors were serviced last year and flowed well before and after.
- my engine is grounded extremely well.
- no pins are getting pushed back in their plugs.
- getting a 12v signal with ignition on to secondary plugs.
- tps is adjusted
- pretty confident no vacuum leaks exist.

At a point of frustration with searching I suppose. Need some input. Part of me has suspected the health of the ecu for about a year now. With all of the adjustments and tinkering...in six FCs, I've never had an issue getting the engine to run and idle just right. This could be wiring related, of course. My mileage is also worse than any fc I've owned.. 12 - 15 mpg.. regardless of what I do. That in itself has been confuzzling me as all of my previous FCs averaged 21 mixed driving. All of them, every time.

You could try switching the ECU pins for the injectors, primaries to secondaries and secondaries to primaries. There is also a staple fairly close to the ECU which groups together some of the grounds. It might be loose.

Update:

Smallest ecu connector, took the dmm to it.

Ignition on, rear rotor secondary gets 12.5 volts.. front rotor is only seeing 10.5 out of the ecu. Voltage drops off significantly when driving at the secondary stage.. i did notice that after the secondaries were triggered and i was back down to idle, I was reading closer to 14volts instead of 12. Cycled the ignition and it went back to 12.

I have checked resistance between the ecu and the injector clips and there is 0.03 between the ecu and the injectors. Continuity, obviously.

Rear rotor secondary injector ohmed fine.. cannot get a reading from the front rotor's secondary injector.. probably bad and causing my problem ?

Whether the injectors are low or high impedance you should be able to take an ohm reading from them if they were still in operating condition.

Agreed. I'll replace the offending injector and post back. It sucks.. over winter I had the injectors serviced off the car.

Maybe a tested pair of injectors will mysteriously show up in your mail box some time next week :-)

Replacing the injector fixed the problem.
