What turbo & what injectors? Power will come from whatever the turbo is and how much boost you are running. The job of the SAFC (on a stock ECU) is to add enough fuel so it doesn't blow up or correct for larger injector sizes. You'll also need a wideband to hope to do any sort of tuning with it.

At the very least you need a bigger fuel pump to not blow the engine with your current setup. It will lean out on the stock pump & injectors if you run 10+ psi. The SAFC can be used to richen the mixture under boost & further prevent detonation.

the car has been unable to hold an idol, nor will it start up when warm. i pulled off the top mount intercooler, then i was going to take the UIM off to check the fuel pressure. I know i have a serious vacuum issue, do you think that the stock fuel pump would be the culprit?

I doubt it. Flooding and a vacuum leak are the most likely causes.

And you don't have to remove the intake manifold to check the fuel pump pressure. You just tee into the fuel feed line at the line that runs from the fuel filter to the engine. Key to ON engine OFF, and the fuel pump check connector jumpered and the fuel pressure should be approx 37-39 psi.

But your problem is not the fuel pump/pressure. Just a heads up on checking fuel pressure.

ah damn i wish i had found your responce earlier, i really appreciate it man. i would have dreaded to have to rip that thing off tomarrow

so everyone seems to think that its a vacuum issue. the only time the vacuum numbers were right was when we held a rev at 2000rpm. does that sound like faulty hoses? the engine has had a fresh rebuild not too long ago so i dont think its the block...
at least i pray its not haha

what kind of bad idle is it? bouncing quickly, dropping low and picking back up slowly, sounds like a lawn mower?

first thing i ALWAYS check, as is usually the problem (even more than vacuum lines) is the spark plugs.

Do a compression test and verify that the guy you bought it from didn't hurt the engine running 10psi on the stock injectors and fuel pump. I think I know who you bought it from, is his name Chuck? Has some sort of car lot? We built the shortblock for him and he and his pal did the conversion and install. How much vacuum is it pulling at idle?

The reason I say do a compression test is that he called us earlier this Spring saying the engine was making no compression, this was after it was running great last year during the break-in, then he decided to go WOT without upgrading the fuel system. We never heard back from him after that call..
