Its not hard to fix just remove the intake it is located on the end of the short fuel rail. I just replaced mine it was spraying gas out it is a real fire hazard.

I replaced mine with one I grabbed off a 626 I think. The only things I took off were the intake, the part with the radiator cap on it, and the alternator for extra room.

Took about 30 min or so... Mazda wanted 70 bux to look at it, even tho I told them the problem and how to fix it...

I don't know about you guys? but i can see and feel the backside of my pulsation dampner with out removing the upper intake manifold. That would suck to remove all that **** just to see if it's leaking.

On NA engines I think it can be done without removing the intake On my turbo I had to remove the upper intake.

upper intake manifold has to go.... unless you have the worlds smallest pair of hands and can get a wrench under there to get it off.

I replaced a bad damper with a parts one when a buddy's car died on the freeway. Loosen the plenum stabilizer bolts and then remove the upper manifold. You can leave everything but the OMP rod attached and maybe a couple vac lines to get on the side of that sucker that way.
