I am ready to see tis beauty on the road! I am glad that you are getting some use out of those shocks. It is better to give stuff away than throwing stuff away.

There was no wiring diagram in the box from motec, and the harness doesnt match up with the m4 or m48. We got a diagram from motec, and the harness is halfway done. Most wires are in have been placed in the right area of the bay, and cut to proper size. Should be close to done tomorrow. Only thing that will be left is to get map sensors and egt and all that.

Hey Nolan, you ever go on any runs around AZ? I found the RCCAZ.com and they have a bunch of runs planed out this year.
That under carraige of yours is looking sweet.

Hey Nene, how is did you get the downpipe from Frank yet?

I ripped out old grey interior. It went really fast until I got to the dash. Not sure if that was because of all the hidden screws, or the keg of Coors Light. There is SO much dirt and funk under all the interior. Tomorrow, I'll clean up this mess and start the install of the nice black interior.

My black interior went in, in all of like 4 hours. Granted I had cut carpet that I was installing so I didnt have to remove the dash, but I aslo dynamatted the whole interior while I was at it. This was against the advice of Elliot and his Uncle...but my car is no racecar, so hopefully the dynamat will take some edge off the exhaust/engine/road noise, and I had almost 70sq/ft of the stuff just taking up space in my storage...so why not?

Your car looks great. Glad to see it coming back together!

If you want to relocate your battery and still be track legal...you either need a ventilated battery box (to the outside)...or a sealed battery. With my battery relocation I just went with a sealed battery to make things simple. It turned out ok. I was happy cause I wanted to make it easy. I am sure you can take a look at it next time you are up there.

Good luck with the rest!

hey Brian, thanks for the comments. I check out your car just about everytime I'm in the shop. That black interior looks damn sexy. I also noticed the battery relocation. Very clean. I think the dynomat was a great idea. defenetly make it more sleek and quite inside. You got any extra?

Have you seen the silver RX at the shop? Its completely gutted! Makes a difference in wieght, but not my style. I am not about to start chiseling away at the sound deadening and ripping out insultation.

I had most of the interior out in about an hour and a half, then the dash came out slowly through out the rest of Sat night. There was a BBQ at the shop, so I was a little distracted. I was planning on it beng a one-day job, but once I noticed all the gung and dirt under the carpet, I just had to clean it. (OCD)

I am looking at the Moroso sealed box, vented outside. It isnt that expensive, and I can save a little cash on the battery.

Looking good tho man, can't wait until they are both on the street again!

I cleaned my carpet before I put it into the car. The carpet that came out of the car was remarkably clean and after taking it out all i did was take a wet rag and wipe off some dust before I layed down the dynamat. I was pretty amazed at the lack of sound deadening in a stock FD. Maybe the dynamat will help...maybe not. Who knows but it was easy so I did it.

Nick's car is definately not a street car. Just because he drives it on the street doesn't make it a street car, LOL. I drove a stripped out Acura Integra Type R (was my first racecar) on the street for about 1 year...and in the June/July months. with No A/C and no carpet my feet would get so hot sitting on the firewall of the car (while in traffic) that I actually got blisters. I am anxious to see how he likes it in the summer months?

Me, personally, I am past that stage of my life. I like a comfortable car on the road. Besides getting out of a racecar seat and fivepoint harness in a suit and tie is pretty tough. However the roll cage does make for a nice place to hang your coat!

Yeah, hopefully both our cars are on the road soon, but you won't find me holding my breath. There is a long ways to go....

I am really anxious to see how that Motec works out for you.

I bought a 100sq/ft roll... I covered the whole trunk area and everwhere but where the rear bins are in the front passenger area (footwell, beneath the seat, transmission tunnel, and firewall). I probably have enough left over to do the doors and that's it (but I have a suspicion that my doors are already done because of the way they sound when they shut, I will remove the panel and know for sure).

The whole roll weighed 20lbs.

I try to tell him that it aint no joke out here in the summer. That's why I put a new AC back in my car! I borrowed his car for two weeks while my DD was getting worked on. No sun visors, no interior, harnesses... I had sweat marks where the harness went and I could never see **** while driving towards the sun. People try to race me every 5 minutes in rush hour traffic. I smelled like gas when I got to work. LOL!

If I wanted a full out race car, it would not be my only ride! He says he is looking at getting a DD soon, so good luck to him.

As for me, I'll stick to a smooth comfy ride that can woop *** when it needs to.

Did Nick cage his car yet? A 4 or 5 point harness is a safety HAZARD in a car without a roll cage. The reason for a three point belt is that if the car ever rolls over the passenger can lean toward the center of the vehicle and not get their neck broken. with a 4 point harness, you can't lean = bad in a roll over. Of course with a cage it doesn't really matter, cause the roof won't compress...but anyway.

How much more work does your car need? What is the current "To Do" list?

Nick recently took the cage out and put in stock belts. Not sure why he hasnt put it back in yet?!?

The "To Do List"... uuhhhgg..

needs an exhaust manifold gasket
motec sensors
finish motec install
fuel lines
oil lines and filter relocation bracket
battery cable, sealed box
interior install
air filter
water pump
need to fit the new DP in place and make an exhaust (Elliot wouldnt' let me put the old muffler and pipe back on)

Thats all i can think of now.
What about yours? What's the current dilema?

There is no current dilema that I am aware of...

I got the power steering converted to manual and relocated the battery (didn't really want to do either at this time, wanted to do them farther down the line) but the oil filter relocation required the space. I sent the rack out to Maval Gear last Monday, should get that back by next week.

Oil filter relocation needs to be completed.

Aquamist HFS-5 Water injection kit should be here by the end of the week, needs to be installed.

Wastegate runners need to be fabricated along with the recirc into the DP, this would complete the manifold

Turbo to IC piping needs to be fabbed. This was in process but hasn't changed in a few weeks.

Wiring harness needs to be installed (have a brand new one ready)
PowerFC hooked back up
Vacuum line routed and hooked up
boost controller hooked up

and the huge one that has me nervous...

TUNING

Hopefully I am done buying parts. I have kept track and WOW!

I am sure you can relate

I also went manual steering. That was done just before the motor went in. Seems like we got similar taste, other than the year/generation!
There is SO much crap I wasn't *planning* on doing until I got my motor back... I thought I was going RTek! That was a fairy tale!

You shouldn't be too nerveous about tuning. I've helped Elliot tune a couple cars, and he knows what he's doing. I was pretty suprised at how fast he hooked up the Motec, having never installed one.

I thought I was done buying parts 6 months ago, but every week, he asked me to pick up something else! I've been keeping track as well, but I'm pretty sure your price tag is a little more than mine... LOL

Did you hear how much my interior was?
I heard about yours.

I got my interior cheap but still more than twice what you paid. I didn't however get any interior panels (aside from the gas/hatch release cover)...that is one good thing they switched to in 1994 was the all back interior panels, even on tan interior cars.

And I did get seats...

What is RTek? Forgive my ignorance...don't know the 2nd gen too much...

The oil filter relocation was a bit more than my needs dictate, however it is very well done, I know the project could have been finished far faster and with less periphreal items purchased, if we didn't go down that road. Live and learn, I know Elliot has learned a lot from the construction of my car.

As to tuning...No matter who was tuning the car I would be nervous. It is where you are putting all this work on the line. It is also where the results are shown. After a certain time frame passes, expectations get raised a little (or a lot). I know the car will be fast, but I am after driveability as well, smoothness at all boost/vacuum levels, a nice torque curve, gas mileage that is within reason , etc. There are a lot of headaches to come, this I am sure. At least I am prepared for them...

I could say the same...but really, there is NOTHING left to buy... I pretty much have everything. I will NOT get another intercooler (mine is fine), and my fuel system is plenty for my needs. There is really nothing else...

I keep thinking...I even cruise the classifieds and see that I have pretty much everything. Is that a sign that you have spent too much money? LOL... I think so!!!

Well, I have all the MAJOR components, but where I keep getting tagged is all the little stuff, battery wire, fuel lines; ya know, all the little tick-tack stuff that no one thinks of until you need it.

That's thing with Elliot tho, he wants to go big on EVERY project. There comes a time when you gotta tell him NO. I'm sure he could spend 50k building a FC!

RTeck is a flashed ECU that allows more fuel if you have the upgrades. There are a couple versions, one that is tunable through palm OS. Very limited tuning, but it would've been alright just to get my car back on the road.

Hey Travis V, thanks for the comments. Got pics of your ride anywhere?

Except the woop *** part
Well Syncro, you must be doing something right with 250k miles!

Speaking of someone just asked me what going all out on an FC was, I told him 1/4 million.

I think Brian knows this, he came in for a $300 tranny job...............

Then again its not really going BIG on every job, every part of every car is so screwed usually, kind of hard to make a hot rod out of a 20 year old vehicle...
