Progress on the 7

This is a NPR intercooler. It's one of the smaller ones out there, and really fits too well on the FC. It's scary how well this fits here. I have room to keep the ac condenser, but I have to move the AC drier.
The inlet and outlet come this way on this IC!!
I wanted more of a sleeper look and the IC mounts VERY well in front of the radiator. The inlet and outlet are positioned PERFECTLY for the FC radiator. I think this is how most FC owners are mounting this particular IC. If you mount just behind the bumper, you turn it upside down. Then you wouldn't have to cut.
I'll get some more angles of the install later this week.

Did you have to cut anything at all? In the first pic in this post, it kind of looks like there's a minor cut in the body around the IC inlet area, or am I seeing things?
I like your car btw; simple, yet powerful and elegant . I've been reading your thread in the AI section, interesting stuff. AI is definitely on my 'distant future build' list .

Yes, there is a minor cut around the inlet and the outlet.
Here is an example from Digi7ech's car.
Mine is cut a little cleaner than this, but it's all covered up anyway.
I am going to move the drier to the bottom right corner of this pic... There will need to be some custom lines made I'm sure, but it should be a simple install.
Thanks for the compliments Need RX7, the AI is a must have for a mod'd rotary. I hate to run so many fuels, but I'd rather do that then mess up a brand new motor! Let me know if you have a project page to your 7.

quick question about your ignition setup.
you have 2 msd coils fired by a single msd box? stock trailings?
Is there any decrease in spark energy since you double up the coils on one box/ignitor? If i am still planning on running wasted spark but with aftermarket coils (blaster ss or lx92) for all 4 plugs i need 1 box and coil per trailing plug+1box and 2 coils for the leading. so 3 boxes and 4 coils? Would i be better off spending the extra 180 and run 4 boxes?
Have you had any wierd ignition timing issues since you are running 2 types of coils?
Thanks

So, I just picked up another MSD box... eventually I will get those blasters working in place of the stock coils!!
I took the 7 to the track about 2 months ago, right after my last post.
I ran a 13.2 at 113 mph. My 60fts were not that great and there was some serious wheel hop!
I have some pics and videos, and of course, the time slip.
It was a costly trip tho. I broke my dif mount. The car was squatting SO hard into my 2nd gear shift, it was ridiculous. I had people coming up and talking to me about how bad my car was squatting.
I also busted the headlight switch somehow. After my first run, the tails stopped working.
So, the car has mostly been sitting in the garage. I just bought a DD that needed some minor fixing up. Once the DD is running great, the 7 will be back in biz.
I'll get the pics and vids and slips up soon.
For now, here is my new DD:

I sold the RX-7. I was hoping this day would never come, but it was a for a worthy cause. These are the last pics I have of her before I sold her.
Thanks for following along. This has been the most fun car I've ever driven or owned.
I'm not sure I can ever build another rotary, but one thing is sure; I will be back building something soon.
