need some front cover help

alright so I'm getting close to putting my engine toether ,and I had the front iron on the stand ,so I decided to test fit the front cover. Well I put it on ,but noticed that one side was not fluch. i began to look ,and you know the little dowels on the front iron that connect to the front cover. I noticed that my frot cover had one in it from the previous engine.I have tried every thing to get it out any Ideas ppl.

If it got in, it can get out. heating up the cover with a torch and then pulling out whatever it is with some vice grips. Use your head.

Wait a second. I know what you are talking about. I got confused. Why do you want to remove that? You don't need to. You just need to line up the front cover straight. Sometimes you've got to tap it on with a rubber mallet.

Why do you need to remove it? I've never had to take that out.

I see now. You have a front cover that somehow had it stay inside it rather than the front housing.

Maybe try using a grinder/dremel tool to 'flatten' out the top and bottom of it and then lubricating it and heating it, then use a vise-grips to grip the two flat sides and wiggle it out...? Should work. It would look like this after grinding the top and bottom---> ( )

See what I'm saying?

The above is all you have to do. A piece of cake. Five minute job.
