My car sometimes shoots flames from under the hood. I just open the door and roll out when that happens. The fire department usually gets it under control.

Is your BOV vented back into the intake? I've seen TII's that have BOV's vented to the atmosphere and they backfire/flame like crazy.

yes.
Also, ease off the gas pedal slowly. No flames.

I was kidding about the flames under the hood. That would be a serious problem indeed.

cool ... i work RIGHT next to the shooting/practice range for all the local cops (and even a whole lot of outta towners) so im almost scared shitless when a cop gets anywhere near me ...

also my RB exhaust sounds a bit louder than i was expecting ... guess due to the bad timing and horrible idle

make sure the car is in a good state of tune, also as a last measure, get an safc and tune it so you dont run as rich.

lol RB exhaust == loud!!! HAH. I Laugh!!

Try a RB Downpipe to presilencer to Corksport single!!!

You can hear my car idle from inside my house!

Anyways. Just don't be doing redline shifts and you'll be fine. Just drive it and see what happens.

I knew all the little tricks to get my na to pop/backfire from driving it.

not mine, My car will NOT shoot flames unless I want it to, I could boost to redline and shift right and it won't flame, in orer for it to flame I just accelerate and upon deceleration I leave it in gear and hold the gas pedal slightly while the rpsm are going down, Ive been known to shoot 4-6ft flames with this method, but to avoid them, Ibjust don't do the trick

I cant shoot flames even trying. I have no emissions equipment, done the TB mod, and run on the rich side, but no flames. Lucky me I guess, cuz that'd be really annoying having to worry about it when cops are around.

Or what about my old setup? RB header to test pipe to dual bomz (ebay) mufflers, my friend could hear me coming to his house from like 5 minutes away. I had to fix that, though, my parents and neighbors weren't very happy

Thats probably because your an na, not all na rx7s are the same, mine used to flame and my dog used to start barking when I was still like 8 blocks away (or so Im told)

Only advice is to drive conservatively and eventually you'll find the way to drive your car normally and not backfire all the time.
