so i just got back getting MORE oil, and getting the pedestal welded. turned out fine...thanks to an old friend....
here is a pic to show the pedestal...

im loading more pics of it and ill have a pic after it was welded also.
also, today i got my braided clutch line in and im gonna try a dif. slave for the clutch. if it dont work then ill buy a new slave but first im gonna try this one.

there it is BROKE
in the bottom pic you can see how thin it was.
again, i dont know how it broke either?
i contacted the seller and they were more than happy to replace it for free but i wasnt taking the chance again.

That's a very poor design.
I'm not surprised it did break.
Most of the stress is probably from removing and replacing the oil filter itself.

If I were to keep the dimensions of that center section, I would've made it out of STEEL, not aluminum.

I was afraid that would happen. That's why I did not go with their oil filter pedestal.

The one I bought had the threaded part made out of steel, and the walls were significantly thicker. It has lasted me 3 months so far, and hasn't given me any problems even after hitting it accidently with a breaker bar.

wow, dude after looking at your body work :S I kinda think you need to invest in a hammer and dolley it'd make your bondo excursion a little less... excrutiating :S and WAYYYYY less sanding

meh, when you NEVER done body work before, let alone completley tear apart a car and put it all back together (the way i did) within a year of buying it...i think i should be pretty damn happy of the outcome......


care to share your work?


i just moved so once i get my desktop put back together ill upload the pics of the car OUTSIDE of the garage...i did get to drive it to the new house....the furthest i drove (about a block!!hahahha) it since i bought it last november.

sweet, newly moded and rebuilt cars are always awesomely sketchy for like the first month you drive them :P but thats awesome to hear it's a streeter now!

If you've ever got questions about body work feel free to ask me, I've work in an autobody shop :P and it runs in the family .

well, kinda...LOL since its being stubborn because of my noobness with rebuilt motors and a haltech...i flooded it out pretty good and it dont wanna start. if we get a decent day here ill pull start it...ive yet to get them pics loaded. sorry if anyone was waiting for those...i did get a chance to buy some hood struts though!
