Arrow Little problem...

I installed my stereo tonight and i finally got it working, but when I turn on any driving lights it shorts out my stereo and it wont play anymore, if anyone can tell me specifically if there is a wire touching somewhere I would really appreciate it. Thanks -Evan

What wire did you tap for 12v?

Weird. I hooked my boost controller to a power source in the radio spot and when I turn my lights on the boost controller turns off.

Exactly how did you hook your stereo up? It should be pretty difficult to get wrong, as all the connections you need are already there. All you have to do is terminate the head unit's harness and plug it straight into the factory plugs.
Since the lights seem to be involved, check the illumination wire (red with a black stripe).

It sounds like you used a power wire for illumination for a ground wire for the stereo.

What'd you use for:

12v battery source
12v switched source
Ground

?

Josepi got it right...

You hooked up your ground for the stereo to the Red/Black in the car. Red/black is lumination.

The stock radio grounds through its mounting cage to the body of the car. You will need to run a ground wire. I recommend running it to the 10 MM mounting bolt found behind the consol access panels on either side of the center consol (next to where your knee goes). Just remove the phillups screw and pop the panel out and you will see the 10 mm bolt right there.

Hey guys thanks for the help, I did hook up the red/black (illumination) wire to the ground on purpose because that was the only way I was getting power to the stereo. I will try finding a different ground point, wires frustrate me...
