It's Getting Around That Time...

What time you ask? The time for me to purchase an Rx-7 . I have a few questions though:

1. I want a TII but for some reason I can't seem to find any around my area (Georgia). So im worried about the power difference... Should I just wait it out, or would it be fine to purchase a regular 90-91 FC (hopefully). From what ive seen the 0-60/ 1/4th mile times are a lot different (2 seconds 0-60) and im a little worried about this.

2. Are there anythings I should look out for?

3. What should be the first mods I get for it? Ex. To improve gas mileage?

4. What really makes her purrr

Help appreciated, thanks in advance

Haha good to see you want to get an Rx-7. I love my rx-7.. I rub it with a soft towel every night...

err wait. off subject..

1) There is a power difference. And if you choose to go into performance mods you will run up against a few walls going with an N/A. Now thats not to say you cant achieve big HP with a 6 port N/A. It's just a bit harder. Also on a side note from what I hear the metal used in the rotor housing on the N/A is of a lower quality than the turbo II model.

2) Yea.. http://aaroncake.net/RX-7/buy1.htm

3) Umm .. well If you get a Turbo II model.. The skys the limit. New ECU, New fuel Pump. Exhaust system. New Injectors.. If you get an NA most people will tell you to swap in a TII engine. Theres a ton of stuff you can do to the 13B.. thats why we all love it so much. Search around the site.

4) Love, attention (esspecially if stolen from your Girl Friend/Wife) , wiped down with a soft towel every night.. Shifting to 2nd gear at 8400 RPM? Treat it good. It will treat you good. I drove the equivalance of New york > california and back again (kidna hard assed it too) in 4 days and it didnt hickup once.. Good luck

Hah I can't wait, it's to bad I need to...For a TII, damn people in Georgia (north fl, east al, or around georgia) not selling their TII.

Besides Auto Trader whats a good site to search for cars on? I know this has a classifieds section I just didn't know how well that would work.

It would be sweet if you built a 175HP+ N/A...

Have you tried eBay Motors ?

For what it's worth I love my N/A and have plenty of fun with it. A good part of the fun is the handling anyway. It's not as fast as a TII but not 2 seconds slower on the 0-60 either. I think it's more like 1-1.5. Still fairly quick. 'course once you start modding the difference becomes greater.

Haha I have a blown N/A engine.. I'm gonna dig it out of my basement and rebuild it in a few weeks or so.. Good compression, gaskets/o-rings are all rotted though. I'll see if i can do a turbo conversion on it..

Yea I am really leaning towards just getting a TII and upgrading that. *crosses fingers*
