How much have you spent?

I've come up with a, pretty much exact, total amount on how much I have spent on my TII swap/build-up. I was wondering... are any of you guys seeing massive amounts of cash being poured into your FC's? I mean I know automobiles are not a cheap hobby, but is anyone spending a little too much they think? I guess I am just dumbfounded at the amount I have spent so far on the car, parts, engine, etc...

Well so far, just doing my clutch swap Im at approx. $1400. thats for flywheel, clutch, all bearings, new hoses and mounts and this and that. Other than that my car is stock. Installed my stereo a few months ago and bought an HKS BOV and strut bar. So total Ive dropped about $2500 on my car in the last 6 months. Still runs and looks like ****

My TII swap so far is probably around the 3k mark. And I got my tranny, engine, clutch, pp, flywheel (all performance/aftermarket) and a full exhaust system for $1250. I guess the major addition was the Haltech and other electronics that go with it...

And things like gaskets and **** like that add up relatively quickly... turbo -> DP gasket from Malloy is $53. Intake gaskets came out to around $60 (all)... That's almost $110 right there... fuel pump, throttle cable...etc. etc.

Honestly...I feel like I own Audrey from "Little Shop of Horrors". Instead of people my Audrey wants to be fed money. and my figure doesn't include the 3 motors I've had in the last 6 years. It does however, include the cost of the car.

$4600-$5000 not including the price of the car, $6000 including the price of the car and I still need bodywork/paint and have a few other mods I plan on doing

My car is n/a who would of thought that lol, I'm happy with it though. I think n/a is a good starting point for your first rx7.

lol...well here's my list:
1987 TII - $2000
Wolf 3D Standalone- $1300
13B-RE- $1600
3rd Gen rotor Housings- $1100
Engine Gaskets & Seals- $1200
Clutch & Flywheel - $800
Interior - $500
TO4S/ HKS Manifold - $1800
intercooler/Wastegate/BOV- $800
Mazdaspeed MS-01 wheels - $1200
Custom Turbo-back exhaust - so far $600 in materials
....There's more just the little things but they add up, but I should be *hopefully* around 400whp area with $10k+. Overall rotary+boost= untreatable addiction so I spend to get my dose.

I never kept count. Good thing too, cause I'm sure I would kill over if I saw that total. I'm sure it's upwards of 15k or so. Should be hitting hte 500rwhp when done.

About $6,000.00 and counting. That ammount includes labor but not the car. I paid $4400 for the turbo II.

$600 so far on the S5 N/A, that was just the car. Now the fun begins... And by fun, I mean rebuild.

1600 = car
1400 = rebuild
150 = transmission
75 = clutch
500 = miscellaneous parts/fluids/etc

And I'm sure I'm missing a lot.

5 rx7's and about 20k. Ouch. I just try not to think about it. Maybe i sub-consciously painted the bottom half green because it's a money pit. LOL. 12-15k went in to my current one and the interior still looks like ****. Probably gonna be 25k by the time everything is done. Should be able to sell it for at least 8k later. LOL. That's the part that hurts the most.

you think about it though....you spend 10K or 15 and can have a pretty damn nice/FAST car and be able to keep up to some or even burn high end cars that cost upwards of 50K...all in all, its well worth it IMO!
