How much have you spent?

I've come up with a, pretty much exact, total amount on how much I have spent on my TII swap/build-up. I was wondering... are any of you guys seeing massive amounts of cash being poured into your FC's? I mean I know automobiles are not a cheap hobby, but is anyone spending a little too much they think? I guess I am just dumbfounded at the amount I have spent so far on the car, parts, engine, etc...

FCKing1995 02-12-07 11:50 PM

Well so far, just doing my clutch swap Im at approx. $1400. thats for flywheel, clutch, all bearings, new hoses and mounts and this and that. Other than that my car is stock. Installed my stereo a few months ago and bought an HKS BOV and strut bar. So total Ive dropped about $2500 on my car in the last 6 months. Still runs and looks like shit :asian:

spot_skater 02-12-07 11:58 PM

My TII swap so far is probably around the 3k mark. And I got my tranny, engine, clutch, pp, flywheel (all performance/aftermarket) and a full exhaust system for $1250. I guess the major addition was the Haltech and other electronics that go with it... :doh:

And things like gaskets and shit like that add up relatively quickly... turbo -> DP gasket from Malloy is $53. Intake gaskets came out to around $60 (all)... That's almost $110 right there... fuel pump, throttle cable...etc. etc.

ill be close to 10K if not over.....450WHP here i come!

eff_three_see_es 02-13-07 01:05 AM

after new shocks today, not including maintenance. around 2,700 ish

fastrotaries 02-13-07 01:34 AM

Geez...Over $16K and it still needs a paint job!!!!!

RotaryResurrection 02-13-07 01:39 AM

I'm going to be around the 15k mark, including paint.

fastrotaries 02-13-07 02:08 AM

Honestly...I feel like I own Audrey from "Little Shop of Horrors". Instead of people my Audrey wants to be fed money. and my figure doesn't include the 3 motors I've had in the last 6 years. It does however, include the cost of the car.

jonesfromindia 02-13-07 02:31 AM

cost list:

3,700
550 ---exhaust
320---rad
280--head unit
190--1 12" AND 2 10" SUBS
110--AMP
50--thermostat, rad hoses, gasket
60--steering wheel
10--spark plugs
75--battery
120--intake
~100--clutch master cylinder

=1865
with car
=5565

as you can see my car is bone stock, and iver spent over half of what my car is worth.

i have a problem.

oh and i was planning on spending another 4k on mods to get ready for my TII swap lol.

wthdidusay82 02-13-07 03:10 AM

$4600-$5000 not including the price of the car, $6000 including the price of the car and I still need bodywork/paint and have a few other mods I plan on doing

My car is n/a who would of thought that lol, I'm happy with it though. I think n/a is a good starting point for your first rx7.

hondahater 02-13-07 05:35 AM

I never kept count. Good thing too, cause I'm sure I would kill over if I saw that total. I'm sure it's upwards of 15k or so. Should be hitting hte 500rwhp when done.

umi415 02-13-07 06:08 AM

About $6,000.00 and counting. That ammount includes labor but not the car. I paid $4400 for the turbo II.

J-Rat 02-13-07 07:00 AM

I quit counting years ago...

:(

ProjectR13B 02-13-07 07:05 AM

including my cars ive spent roughly 7k maybe. ive had 3 7s.

Rexpelagi 02-13-07 07:25 AM

$600 so far on the S5 N/A, that was just the car. Now the fun begins... And by fun, I mean rebuild. :fawk:

cyberxn 02-13-07 07:29 AM

over 3 Grand, and thats just to get it going again :)

My5ABaby 02-13-07 07:55 AM

1600 = car
1400 = rebuild
150 = transmission
75 = clutch
500 = miscellaneous parts/fluids/etc

And I'm sure I'm missing a lot.

brent clement 02-13-07 08:10 AM

5 rx7's and about 20k. Ouch. I just try not to think about it. Maybe i sub-consciously painted the bottom half green because it's a money pit. LOL. 12-15k went in to my current one and the interior still looks like shit. Probably gonna be 25k by the time everything is done. Should be able to sell it for at least 8k later. LOL. That's the part that hurts the most.

lupin 02-13-07 08:33 AM

I'd say about $11,500

and I still am not running a turbo and my car is still 4 different colors ^_^

in a week I am gonna pickup 4 new tires, new wheel bearings, and new ball joints.

:jump:

88rxn/a 02-13-07 08:38 AM

you think about it though....you spend 10K or 15 and can have a pretty damn nice/FAST car and be able to keep up to some or even burn high end cars that cost upwards of 50K...all in all, its well worth it IMO!
