lol I refuse to look back. nope not going to do it, I'm still focusing on all the things to fix before body and paint.

I have a different way to look at things.

If I invest $300.00/month into my car then I should have a like new car at the end of 5 yrs.

OR

Buy a new car RX8 or low mileage FD (mod neither of them at all for the full 5 yrs. as not to exceed the $300.00/month payment) and at the end of 5 yrs. I have a paid off car that is starting to need attention.

I stopped counting a long time ago, but 7ish years ago when I had the car appraised I was @ 20 something thousand. That was before the engine swap.

What so many people are missing here is hte little **** that nickle and dimes you to death - AN fittings, hose couplers, material, fuel pumps, new calipers.... the list goes on and on for **** that gets forgotten. When I do my FD build, I'm going to keep a spreadsheet for every last cent that goes into it, but more importantly, every last minute as well. I bet it closes in on 1000 hours before all is said and done.

Still to come in the not so near future-

-Reupholstered seats
-Possibly coilovers (only if I can find good streetable ones, I don't mind harsh but parts do, my interior pastic is cracked from my headunit already)
-Possibly a simple 4 point cage behind the seats
-And to complete the package a - "Fu*k your lane hogging clean air vehicle" - sticker

A) I thought daddy was paying that tab
B) you didn't hit 300

Didn't really realize how much you guys actually spend on your cars haha.

Car: 2000ish
Coilovers: 900
Wheels: 1000
Brake Master Cylinder: 60
Knick Knacks here and there: 200
So that puts me at about $4200

I try not to spend a lot, its not really practical for me.

I wouldn't know anything about nuts besides my own, you on the otherhand have been known to swing from them. I don't have a personal problem with you, just all noobs that think their **** don't stink, and thier car is the absolute best thing to ever roll down the street. That feeling is magnified when people buy it, not build it, and further intensified when it's not even thier coin. But what do I know, right? John is the ULTIMATE engine builder and your 13B flows better than ANYTHING EVER built right? btw..... your numbers don't impress me, I'm putting down 405 rwhp and 328 ft/lbs of tq on STOCK turbo's.... so yeah.... oh yeah... I also figured out how to bolt in a 6-spd so I can shift mad tyte yo while I'm slidin' or dyin' while mad peeps are hydin' dare daughters yo. DAddy didn't drop me on my head, but baSed on how much he'S shelling out for this car, it's pRobAbly to keeP somEthing a secret.... isn't it?

Don't worry about what people say. Just drive your car and enjoy it. Who really cares where the money comes from or whatever.... Your car is nice. I would be happy and proud to own it!

And on the topic.... I've lost count. Original blew at 130000kmish because I was a newb and put a downpipe etc and double the boost. Didn't take long for a stock car with double the boost to pop. Then I went nuts and have been runnning over 400rwhp on the current engine to about 200,000kmish. Still pulls strong. Only reason its out was because I am painting the car. This will now be my spare engine. In the mean time I had a shop build me a uber motor. Race bearings nrs seals etc etc doweled, brand new housings etc etc. Just in the paint job and new engine I could buy a new car! The only reason why it was any where near affordable was because I did all of the work myself other then the engine build.
I originally had the E6K and moved over to the Haltech E8. Now I am revisiting another ems upgrade cause the com port connection pisses me off! Might only stick with the Haltech because I've wired up a haltech system three times already. The fuel system alone was probable $2000 in fuel injectors, fittings, Fuel pulsation dampener, regulator, pump.

I could go on forever.

$4300 on the car initially 4 years ago. I didn't HAVE to have it, I just threw the guy a number. I was out of my mind for paying that.
"If I knew then what I knew now..." comes to mind.

Blew the motor so I sourced another keg and it was DOE. I think I payed $550 for that.
Full gasket set for an S4 TII and new Apex seals (obviously). IIRC that was around $800
Upgraded the brakes, that was around $500
rear caliper seized, had to get a new one. $100
NEW lower window trim pieces: $130
Silicone hoses: $80 or so
Pieced together a FMIC/pipes/couplers: $350
home made filter with piping/couplers/t-bolts: $100
New master and slave cylinders for clutch $50 or so each?
serviced injectors $80
regular tires: $300
Stuff I bought from the classified sections. Prices are "IIRC":
Tried to fix my sunroof and annihilated it. Needed to get another one. $50
undertray: $20
stock shifter: $20
omp: $25
new shifter boot and surround piece: $40
My metal center console gauge holder with gauges $100
Vac/boost gauge - $30
Mirrors (didn't use): $75
New diff mount (didn't install yet): $50
flywheel: $50
2 injectors: $30
leading coil: $25

Tons of other **** I can't even remember. I'd say including the car, I've spent $8500 and I'm not done. I need to sell this thing and move on with my life!

I am not worried. Just find it funny that this guy is obsessed with me. And trys to rub in that I didn't make 300 when I did then thinks I'm trying to impress him. My car was built for me not anyone else on this forum. I just think it is funny how angry he gets and then posts like 18 paragraphs to vent his anger. I have already stated my car is no where near the best but daddy dropped him on his head and broke his ears I guess.

Yup, probably put you close to if not over $8k right? Its like my downpipe. I got a GREAT deal on it, $25. I was stoked.... Then I spent $80 on a flex coupler, $75 on a V-band kit, $25 on wrapping, and a few bucks on the silicone spray. So my awesome deal @ $25 ended up costing me over $200.....

Get off your high horse, no one is obsessed with you or your car. I really don't care. Like I already said, your numbers don't impress me, even though they are now 313 (which I made on WG :p )

And you're right... my ears are broken... I'm listening to you talk to yourself from across the country.. or maybe I'm blind too and having someone read your posts to me.... you make no sense... none.

And believe me, you have never seen my angry posts. This is me laughing at you while posting.
