Geez, counting everything I bought, the mistakes I made, the unexpected bad surprises and all that **** that end up costing you more because you decided to change or add something.....probably 10-12k....

And I fixed my budget for 6k, and the car was supposed to be finished on may first...

But now its getting painted and will be ready in about 2 weeks.

With a reliable +/- 225rwhp. Enough to beat an FD, I'm happy.

i haven't added it up in a while but here goes, some parts are overlapping as i have had to upgrade to keep up with turbos:

'87 TII $1365

misc gauges $100
misc switches $50
fuel filter $28
1000/1600cc injectors $200

T4 oil feed and dump fittings $100
MP T70 turbo $600

-------------------------------------
total $12305 and still need paint and body work

plus i'm sure i'm missing about $1k in there somewhere, just crap off the top of my head, keeping in mind i did go as cheap as i could with reputable parts, those figures could easily be doubled by using big name brand junk. also keep in mind there is absolutely no labor in there either.

only if he was a true fool, keep in mind the cars only cost less than half that brand new so why bother buying brand new OEM everything?

Plus I have extra parts like a ceramic coated S5 turbo and mani, doors, a fender, a hatch, 2 NA hoods, a full S4 interior, all the crap I removed and am still holding on to. a set of baloney cutters, and on and on and on.........

See sig.

I budget a strict $300 a month for gas, repairs, maintenance, upgrades. I decreased the budget during about 5 months of school, so I'm probably up to ~$2500 or so now. Most of that is gasoline from driving almost 10,000 miles. The rest is maintenance items, body work, repairs (vandalism x 2). Haven't done any upgrades yet, but the car is fully restored now so I'll be upgrading soon.

I figured out all my planned upgrades and it comes to about $2500.

$4000 - Ito rebuild (new housings, replaced rotor, plates etc)
$400 - original TII engine, turbo, manifolds etc
$150 - TII tranny
$300 - TII diff, halfshafts, driveshaft
$550 - Exhaust
$100 - Turbo rebuild kit
$500 - New leather seat covers
$700 - new top
$250 - Megasquirt, wiring components etc
$250 - LC-1 wideband and gauge
$500 - miscellanious parts, fluids, hoses, tools etc
$200 - new brake rotors, pads, SS lines
so about $7900 so far (damn, more than i thought)

and then $1900 - the car itself (88 'vert), so after $9800 I'll have a pretty nice turbo 'vert that needs paint and an FMIC, and i still need to do suspension

ouch

n00bs.... you need to at least be in the 5 digit range. Don't let your gf/wives see this thread. But if they do, you better be damned certain that whatever ring is on there finger better cost more than what you spent on the FC.
