'90 vert $1100 on ebay

... just needed paint and a new top. (yeah, right)

Seller had flaky buyer with negative feedback on his original auction. I called him on the phone, we talked but he was proud of the bidding action.

On his next auction after the flake non-payed on him, he again had nothing but 0 and low feedback bidders. I called and talked to him again.

I said, You know where this is going 'cause you've been down this road before and I refuse to bid against low/nofeedback flakes.

Offered him $1100 and he ended the auction early. Runs great, drives great. Over the last 6 mos. I have put another $1000 into it; exhaust, top, switches, springs, struts, short shifter, tires.

Lacking only the paint, waiting on that so I can put on the new top.

'88 convertible, bought it in June from the GF for $1. It needed some power steering and brake repairs that she couldn't afford. So I bought it from her, got the repairs done, and drive it as a second car mainly on the weekends (and to work occasionally on nice days).

Of course, I also gave her the down payment on an Acura RSX Type-S as a birthday present in mid-May, which mitigates the $1 to some degree.

Cool

$400 for my 86 GXL from a co-worker who beat the **** out of it badly. Guy was cruel to it. 158,000 on the whole car, nothing rebuilt that I could tell.

Things I`ve done!

Plugs(Platinum NGK)
Plug wires (Magnacor 10 mm street)
thermostat
heater hose
K&N replacement for stock box,
used 5 speed (original sounded like a garbage disposal, no ****)
front and rear brake rotors and pads
new Cooper Cobra stock size tires on baloney cutter rims
FD Alternator (Silverrotor)
used hatch glass $70 (old one had THE WORST tint I`ve ever seen)
Warning light panel (Icemark)
Climate control logicon (Icemark) A/C still cold!
Front/rear wiper switch (Icemark)
Cruise control switch (E-Bay) Cruise works great!
Removed ugly-*** Whaletail fin and repaired cracks in deak lid (in progress)
repair rust on sunroof (in progress)
repair rust RR wheel well (in progress)
Miata short shifter (E-Bay)
Radio surround with vent (forum member in J-Pan)

Runs strong, drive as often as I can.

Need front clip and right front fender, I have em, will be a winter project.
Need suspension, old ansd squeaky
Need some interior work but will do that little at a time.

I have an S5 NA long block (89), has blown rear rotor. This will be my "learning project"

Still need to figure out how to put pics in my signature!

$3500 ($4K after taxes) 87 GXL in great condition with 77K original miles. Found out it has Tokico 5-way shocks in the rear a few weeks later when my friend looked it over. O.O

One Tippman paintball gun ($80). I've got an 89 GTU and the interior is great, the extirior needs some work, and the engine is an 88 model that isn't plugged in(wiring harness) so i've got plenty of work to do, but it is a good solid car.

I paid $1500 for my 125k mi 88 GXL. Needs some minor bodywork and paint---interrior parts needed too (runs pretty well though). Nothing that a few trips to the junkyard wont fix. I thought I got ripped at first but a friend of mine paid $3500 for an 86 fiero which ended up being a pita to get it semi running.
