Just picked up a 1986 (don't even know the model yet ) 124k, perf interior, little bit of bubbling bottom corners, red, runs real strong, new tires, exhaust, minor little problems. 1K cash from my mechanic.

Fair price? Picked it up for my son's 1st car.

150$ for a 87 T2.... no rust.. 170k miles....low compression on the rear rotor... Car is currently apart and once i pull the motor... i will be rebuilding it.

Oh i got it from a friend of a friend.... i was helping him swap a CA18 into his 240 and i mentioned i wanted a FC...he directed me to the right place.

My 87 t2 was $2850. It came with the rb turboback and had been streetported. It also has 17 inch rims and toyo tires. A few minor problems so far. No rust.

Cool

$3,500 - 1988 RX-7

Interior, good condition.
Engine, 16,000 miles. (The previous owner just dropped a new 13b into her in 2001)
Exhaust, Racing Beat (Purchased by previous owner in 2002)

I'm really pleased with my rex. The guy I bought it from owned it since 1988, when he bought it. I checked the carfax report and it had a major accident but the guy repaired it and you can't tell at all. The hatch stays up, all the gauges work, no leaks or anything. It was a good buy, it is missing the center console and a stereo, though. It was "attemptedly" stolen, the steering column surround is missing, too. But I guess the guy took the stereo since he couldn't get the car, haha.

The guy had all the paperwork too, repairs, maintenance, emissions, title and the original owner's manual.

I paid $3200 for my 89 Turbo II in Jan 05. I had to fly from Houston to Nashville to get it!!! About half way I lost compression in the rear rotor, that sucked!!! A couple thousand later it was up and running again.

It is in really good shape, barely over 100k miles interior is great, a few dings on the outside. But it was worth it!

Bought an 89 GTU from a frustrated owner and found that it was only flooded. Got it running and drove it a year before I had to rebuild the engine. 5 years and about $6K later this is my baby:

$1700 for a 1987 n/a base model w/ 130k mi, no rebuild. Mechanically pretty good, interior and exterior are a little rough. So far the DMV stole about $200 and changing out the fluids, filters, thermostat, radiator caps, and pulsation dampener was another $300-ish. Not too bad I think.

I have a dead seven garage. An '89 GTU auto and a '91 Turbo II. Bought the '89 2 years ago with a locked engine (apex seal, trashed the rear rotor) for $500. After I bought the rebuild kit, manual tranny, computer, LSD, new rotor housings, and a new rotor I was finally ready to put the engine together. My buddy calls me about a month and a half ago with a line on the '91 Turbo II. It runs! Paid $300 for it. I said it ran, but, truth is it runs like crap. It couldn't be driven. So I have two RX7's that I have never driven.
This fall I plan on stripping the '91 and cobbing its goodies into the '89. With a rebuild. I should mention the turbo was sitting in a pasture, rotting. The body is shot. The '89 has areal good body. Lots of door dings but absolutly no rust. The guy kept it garaged and never drove it in the winter.
My next buy, however, will be a digital camera so I can post pics. I'm a little behind the curve with the digital thing. Been a mechanic for a long time though.
