$1500 for a pretty damn clean 87 Turbo II... its could kinda use a paint job, and it has a nice bit of miles on it, but it runs fine...

Untill it hits 3800RPM, I havent figured out whats ****** up the secondaries, but thats ok, it does jsut fine below that rpm, it keeps me from raggin it out lol.

'87 T II 60k mi good cond, in '96...On a powdunk car lot in Pensacola FL, he wanted $6,000 for it, it was the only one found anywhere close I told the used car salesman,

-Me- Dude, it's a cool car but rotary (barf face) and turbo (worse barf face), I hear it's like $2,000 to fix the turbo alone and break all the time.

-Him- (laughs) well I got that Civic over there...

-Me- Bye

Five months later...

-Me- I'll give you $2,500

-Him- $4,500

-Me- $2,800 Cashier's check....right now

-Him- Done!!
-Me- (Driving away giggling) Dumbass.....

$1300 on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...550229248&rd=1

despite having 175k miles, it looked to be in good condition and the sellers knew nothing about it, so I decided to take a gamble. I got it and it's in amazing condition aside from some minor rust -- the interior looks brand new. I assume it has a rebuilt motor... 110psi on both rotors.

$1500 he asked for $2000

It basically went, "It looks good, how's it sound? And how's it look under the hood? That belt looks a little loose. We'll kick the idea around" As he gets into his car we (dad and I) stop him and I say, "$500 cash and a check for $1000"

I drove it home after looking at it for 15 minutes. Of course I did take pictures of the whole thing a week earlier and did a lot of homework.

$250

Was sinking into some redneck's backyard. Had a bad fuel pump (he thought engine was blown). Shitty interior, even shittier paint job (he painted it GREEN). Body (surprisingly) has not a single dent. Engine runs very strong, once I've repainted it and fixed up the interior i'll be happy

That was one funny story,

I bought my '90 GTU out of a JunkYard for $600 only thing wrong with it was a blown motor. I bought an '89 GXL and '90 GTUs from a guy for $1,000 and started a GTU --> GTUs conversion with all the S5 Turbo 2 parts and rims from the GTU's and am modifying the AAS from the GXL and all the bells and whistles such as PW, PS mine is busted, Pioneer Stereo with CD, back hatch windshield wiper...etc and all.

After it is done it will be a GTUs/GXL hybrid. After that I am getting a S5 Trubo II motor for it and calling it a Turbo II.

$1800 - Mint Shell with no motor
$800 - Jspec S4 Longblock
$125 - New ECU
$250 - 3in Exhaust

Total : $2975 Plus the normal extra crap

Then my wife wrecked it and I just receintly purchased another shell for $800. So you could say $1975 for my second one since I'm using all of my old parts.

6k, in 02.B/B 89 GTUs turbo transplant, beautiful new paint, VERY clean interrior, ran strong. Lot's of mods were already done to it. I was 16, didn't know much, engine blew 8 months later...................rebuilt engine installed, fmic kit more stuff.........3k miles later it blew, damn shot turbo caused massive engine oil starvation, now it sits awaiting it's next motor which will be either an RE or a massivelty ported BT, after I get out of college in a year.

I paid 200 dollars for mine in the condition that it is now..

Okay.. that might be a bit of a stretch.

The paint was oxidizing badly (it was red), and the interior was sorta busted up, but she was mechanically sound and a (fairly) straight body.. The guy thought the car was shot.

After a clutch and brake job, the car ran great for about a year.. until I tore it down for a rebuild with street port, and some minor body work to customize it a little bit. It still looks largely stock...

We paid 500 for my dad's 85 GS.. That one was bought from a forum member, mechanically awesome, great condition interior, but the body was starting to go.. Right now we have everything from the tranny back off the car, and a lot of the paint is sanded off.. I'm fixing rust problems (mostly surface) in the rear end, and we're working on getting all of the surface rust off of the things like the differential housing and axles and such.. Lots of fun with grinders and wire brushes..

This one will be a metal-flake burgandy, with a bit rotor on the hood, gloss black for anything not burgandy, and gold accents (like the "MAZDA" on the rims, and the Rx-7 logos, as well as the underside components such as axels, diff housings, etc) A few minor customizations are coming up...

Got mines for 350 at the police auction. Engine was good and interior. Only thing wrong was the exterior. Both quarter panel smushed in and rocker panel. So I got it fixed w/ my dad since he owns a body shop.

2000, down from 2200 for an 87 gxl with a really nice interior. the motor was going out (i have an s5 block in my garage awaiting a rebuild) but a lot of little things that she'd done to it made it worth it to me, like a new lsd, redone suspension, new alternator, cd player etc.

My old 87 Sport was $14500 new (window sticker $17300).

My old 88 GTU was $15500 new (window sticker $18900)

My vert was $2500 used

My 10th AE was $100 (cost me more to register it than the car cost).

90 GXL : $500

bought it not running, runs on 1 rotor now. I'm pulling the engine out in a couple of weeks or so and getitng her street ported and rebuilt. body is in decent shape, few minor dents, minor fender damage, straight body, and a friend of mine owes me a fender for some damage it sustained while he was towing it. the guy that owned it before me was a complete idiot... thank god he never got it running.

he pulled up in this POS crx and was all like "yeah, i wanna turn this thing into the ultimate CRX, i'm already building some huge boxes for subs, and i'm also putting subs on my scooter".... yeah, he want's to put subs on his motorized scooter. good thing he was too lazy to buy a battery and spark plug wires.
