ive topped out my speedo (160mph) im not sure how fast i was going...maybe 165-170 i presume..i was about 7200k or alittle more...i wasnt paying too much attention to my rpms..i was trying to concentrate on the wind not blowing me off the road lol..I dont even have much done to it...hks reloaded intake, full 3inch from dp back, front mount, plugs and wires, upgraded ecu...11lbs of boost...walbro 255..pretty quick haha, im about neck and neck with my friends 350z, he has a invidia catback and a popcharger (intake) 6-sp...just for an idea of how it runs..i love it!

'88 auto GXL
In my automatic '88 GXL I got it up to 133mph, I don't remember the rpms, but I do remember swerving around I deer at 110mph and only slowing down because of the 90' turn coming up. One of the stupidest things I have ever done....but it was the fastest I have ever gone in a car.
I haven' had the TII over 70mph yet and I can't believe I've only had my volvo up to 110... I had a '99 Intrepid that used to see 125mph on I-80 almost everyday. hahaha
And I can't imagine many FC's on here are approaching 190 or 200mph....I don't care what the calculator says, i'll believe 202mph when i see it.

I went down to Florida from Georgia in the middle of the night. While doing so I raced a Mazda 6 for about 1.5 miles. My fourth gear at 7000rpm read 124mph, but when I shifted into fifth gear there wasn't enough torque to take me past 126mph. I don't know what the rpm was at. The 6 was speed limited to 122mph so I pulled on it. This was in 114,000 mile N/A 86 standard 5-speed. I would also like to mention that I averaged 21mpg and got about 300 miles on one tank.

S4 Redline Speeds (@ 7000) Assuming non-86, NA tranny, 24.7" overall diameter, manual transmission, mph scale
1st: 36
2nd: 63
3rd: 92
4th: 125
5th: 179.89 (Yeah, not going to happen on a stock NA, or any NA for that matter with this tranny)
S5 Redline Speeds (@ 8000) Assuming non-GTUs, NA tranny, 24.7" overall diameter, manual transmission, mph scale
1st: 41
2nd: 72
3rd: 105
4th: 143 (You'll have difficulty on a stock NA)
5th: 205.59 (Yeah, right)
86 and GTUs speeds are slightly different, 86's will have a slightly lower 5th gear max speed with better acceleration than its S4 bretheren due to a slightly taller 5th gear. The GTUs will have a lower top speed in every gear due to it's 4.3 Final Drive Gear as well as better acceleration and even lower top speed in 5th due to it's significantly taller 5th gear. (Think 10% taller, which equals 10% better acceleration in 5th gear based on 5th gear gearing alone)

120+ in 5th gear, stock s4 NA. Stopped at 120 once I lost my short section of 100% empty road. It seems about as strong as my last RX-7, so I'd guess 125-130.
rymnryan: check your 5th and 6th ports.
There's a 12000rpm peripheral port NA trying to hit 200mph. After years of trying I think he made 199. He's a cop. Has a drag chute. Claims no speeder has ever gotten away. But anyhoos I'm saying 200mph isn't easy, though I bet Patman could do it if she didn't crash first.

I made this graph to see my speed vs. RPM (speed is on the y-axis). This is on 255/40 R17 tires, which is a TAD bigger than stock in terms of diameter so when my speedo says 60mph, I'm actually going 62. The green line is 4th gear, the red is 5th.
Obviously this doesn't take into account wind resistance and some other factors, but for lower speeds it's quite exact.
Edit: Forgot to mention this is a 1989 T2, so the gear ratios are different than an N/A. Although 4th gear should be the same but the N/As rev up higher.

The convention is usually the other way around, rpm on y, speed on x
I usually see the graph with first gear being a full line, but for every gear after that, the line is shortened to all the rpm's above the rpm that you would land on from shifting at the optimum rpm the gear before. Either that, or it'll be truncated for every rpm below the rpm that you would land on if u shifted at redline from the gear before.
It would account for wind resistance because if your car is being pushed back by the wind, your tires and engine aren't spinning at the rpm as if there were no wind, they're spinning at the rpm that's being affected by the wind, if that's not confusing enough.
