heavy smoke upon decel?
when i rev the engine to the redline it blows out a hug cloud of white smoke upon decel. coolant seems to be at the same level and it doesnt do it unless its in the redline. comes out of there for about 3 seconds. i read it could be coolant seals but what i read/searched wasnt much help. thanks guys

If coolant seals were leaking, there should be noticeable changes in the coolant system. IE: bubbling when you shut it off after a drive, overheating regularly, smoking on start up, coolant bubbling over etc.
An easy & free way to check is wait until the car is completely COLD. like sitting overnight cold. Take the radiator cap off, and start the car. Go back outside and look into the radiator fill cap. If the coolant seal has a leak, exhaust will make it's way through, and cause a soda like bubbling effect. It should be pretty noticeable.
By far the easiest, and cheapest test.

I had a fb that would leave a james bond level smoke screen behind it whenever I redlined; it looked white but that's what it was.
How many miles are on your engine?
Also, another way to test the coolant seals is to just leave the radiator cap off of it and start it. If you get water bubbling up from it you've probably got bad coolant seals; unless you have an external coolant leak somewhere letting air in to the system.

I would guess, even though you say it is white, it is oil bypassing the oil control rings. You could do what the 1st gen guys, and what I've done, and run 20w50 with some of the Lucas oil stabilizer in it. https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generati...ilizer-480584/ Post #17

btw guys i took off my radiator cap on a cold start. i let the car rev to 3k when i did it (didnt put it in gear) and nothing happened, just looked like the coolant was rising and gonna spill out so i closed it back up. guess its the oil seals since it burns so much oil when i rev the **** out of it alot and throws a get a way cloud lol

your oil choice is too thin.
As Slither mentioned, you should go to a 20w..say 40 or 50.
I run a 10w30 but with the weather up here I can get away with it.
5w30 is more or less for newer type vehicles.
If you are not exactly sure what to run you can always check the Car's manual or tech sheet.

Run 20w50 in the summer and 10w30 in the winter.
If you still have smoking issues, try some of that no smoke stuff.

For EACH oil change with say 20w-50 use a Quart of 5w30..you'd be making the oil like a 15w40..
Or just sell it to a buddy or use it on a Daily..like a Soccer mom van..
Don't blame the Rotary..they did come with a book..lol!
