88 T2 power loss at above 6k
Howdy, folks. Brief description of the car in question:
75,000 miles
Mazdatrix engine rebuild 7k miles ago
No mods
Above 6k rpms, in any gear (havent tried 5th lol) there is heavy power loss. Rpms keep rising but no power behind it. I will immediately get off the gas when it happens, but tested all gears. Seems fuel-related...?
Also, when I bought the car the temps ran relatively high. I think 220°? Anyway always at or right above half -way on the temp gauge. I drove the better part of 1000 miles that way before I flushed the coolant and the problem was fixed. How damaged might the engine be from this wear? Subtract 10k miles from its lifespan?

i dont think this is going to fix your problem but i had a power loss above 5k and it turned out the previous owner had the vacuum lines that plug into the blow off valve hooked up wrong, swapped the lines and the boost increased and had power above 5k again
and i have a s4 t2 and my temps are just under half way on my stock guage, 72k miles on mine
Edit: i would get a koyo rad and a electric fan, that might help keep temps down
