Old 12a with dual distributors

I found a 12a with dual distributors and a top mount starter hole. The motor is stuck, and guy who has it says it has been kept in storage since 1990 and it smoked from the exhaust but ran good last time it was running and said it turned freely when put into storage. How hard is it to make this engine work in my 83 rx7?

Are its internals and housings useful to a rx7 12a? Just curious if its a waste of time.

Tension bolt placement is different, those engines have 6mm apex seals which are no longer available.your better off trying to source a good running 12a from 79-85

Thank you Turbo Dave! This motor is still available for $100. The carb has been damaged, the distributor caps have been off in storage, but the motor itself looks very nice. It's in Medford Oregon 97501

It also has dual side seals.

The parts are hard to find for replacement. The ports are tiny and will take a lot of work to make the stock HP of a "Newer" 12a.

If it's gong in an Rx7, source an Rx7 12a. If it was going into an original nostalgic built Rx2, twin dizzy.
