Firing up my rebuild soon..any tips?

Everything is close to being togethor, just waiting for some belts and spark plug wires from mazdatrix. I received the rebuild from banzai a little over a month ago.. is there anything i should do before trying to start it up? anything that is normally llooked over, or easily missed while putting the motor back togethor?.. just a little nervous/anxious about it

Pull the ECU Fues, crank for a few secs to prime the oil system. Check for leaks after.

There is going to be alot of smoke for about 5-10min

Good Luck and everything will be fine.

Post back if you have problems i will solve them.

Well without a aftermarket gauge it is hard.

Normally about 10-15secs will be plenty to oil everything.

From: We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?
First you need to make sure you dizzy is out of time, and it is 11pm in a gated community, then pull the car around the whole community with a 6cly firebird and wonder why in the world it sounds like a 10ga shotgun is going off.

Ok thats more or less what not to do.

dont over do yourself when you finally get the motor going, i also heard its going to test low compression at first then compression will start to build up after break in miles. break in miles are about 5000-10000 miles? i dont remember but, just drive with care dont go crazy or your seals will all break out before breaking in.

Do not put any more oil in the plug holes. You will soak the plugs.

Make sure it is full of oil and coolant. The S5 is not as easy to burb as the S4 make sure you have close to two gallons in there.

Prime the fuel system at the jumper to make sure you do not have any fuel leaks and get fuel to the injectors.

Remember if you installed o-rings at the lower intake manifold to block... this seems to be something lots of people are forgetting recently.

Start the car, check for leaks, watch the temp gauge.
