Custom lines?

OK, while I'm doing my turbo swap i'm cleaning up the engine, removing emissions and all that good stuff.

While i'm at it I wanted to upgrade some fuel lines and replace the turbo hard oil lines with some SS braided lines to keep everything looking clean.

Does anyone know what size AN fittings will work on the fuel hard lines?

For the Turbo oil lines I was going to use these: 2751 Engineering
But was wondering if there is any other alternatives to the $20 adapters?

The only hard fuel lines I connectedto I could not use a fitting. You have to use a hose clamp. From there on out, -6an is common.

The $20.00 turbo connector, that is just how it goes.

Here is a pic of my fuel system on this link. Honestly, our OEM system flows fine. This is more for looks, and is seay as hell to dismantle. If you plan serious HP, not a bad idea.

You can also tap the front cover to directly accept an -AN fitting.

That's a b*tch but it can be done. You won't find it from your performance parts store. The hard line IIRC is 9 or 10mm, there are no AN fittings I could find in that size. You have to get a compression fitting (brass or bronze?) from a hydraulic/fitting supply house with an AN adapter. IIRC the compression fitting went to German thread and then a German thread to AN adapter. Took a few phone calls and take a sample piece of line with you. I did it from my rear hard lines to -6AN for my cell but have not done the engine compartment yet. Another option is to have a bung brazed on the line or just replace all your hard line with something other than metric! A hose barb and piece of hose works but defeats the whole purpose if you are going to the trouble/expense of running braided line. I think I'm just going to plumb the whole system in braided line one day, much easier.

Sounds like it's going to be more of a pain then it's worth.
So I'll prob just keep it simple for the fuel lines, but those turbo oil hard lines will probably go.

I did stainless lines for a Garret T4 turbo, not the stock one, but some of this applies:

You need an M12 x 1.50 --> 4AN adapter for the front cover source for the oil feed. I'm pretty sure I just bought this: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...Code=ATP-FTG2\

and then, after realizing the pitch was wrong, I used a die to fix it and it screwed in fine with no leaks. Then you will need at least 3-4 feet of 4AN line and two 90 degree fittings, one for each end. I am not sure what fitting you will need to screw into the oil feed side of the stock turbo You will also need a restrictor for the feed line I suspect. not sure with the stock turbo.

For the oil return, I think it's the generic T3/T4 flange but you want. I think this will work, at least on the front cover side: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me..._Code=ATP-FTG1

Then I would get maybe 2 feet of 10AN hose. expect to waste some of it if you are aving trouble assembling the fittings, which can be frustrating if you have never done it before. I suspect you will need at least one angled fitting for the oil return somewhere, but I'm not sure because I've only done it on a T4 turbo with a n HKS manifold.

Oh and good luck trying to make stainless coolant lines. I've never heard of anyone doing it on the stock turbo, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. You would probably need to find a different coolant feed source at least that could be more easily tapped for a fitting (not sure, never tried it). To block off the coolant lines, use a split air blockoff plate for the feed source and a vacuum cap with a worm clamp on the coolant return port on the waterpump housing area

theres all these midget dirt race cars that regularly swap out engines every season, and all this **** ends up on ebay really really cheap

Bump from the dead instead of making new post.

I want to confirm, does anyone know if i need to have a oil restrictor using a -4AN lines for the inlet on a stock Turbo II S5 turbo?
