How does one check a MOP(OMP)

I have never seen anywhere listed online nor on the forums: regarding the how to check on the OMP on any series aside from switching to pre-mix???

Would I be correct is saying, if your pump is leaking oil it would be broken and if it isn't your fine?

Why: S5 Oil metering electric pump - Can't tell...
Issue: I want to check and if it is, I would like to see if anyone knows the sizing on S4 and S5 Oil metering vacuum lines to top of housing?

Reason: I searched and no-one specifies (2003-4) Too late to ask
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-arch...-lines-348068/
This is one I've been looking into but S4-S5 are not the same. I just was wondering if I go out and purchase lines and crimps I get the correct sizing (Old ones are brittle and have shrunk so I would be guessing.)

Any insight would be great, I check the forums and google, yet nothing.

no, there is an o ring that seals the pump to the engine, and that leaks all the time, pump is fine.

with a stock ecu, the ecu monitors the pumps function, and if the pump isn't working, it turns on the check engine light, and a limp home. with the power FC it might have a black bar on the sensor check screen.

Very good to know

Thank you for your informative information: I haven't ran into any leaks, nor a fixed limp-mode I couldn't overcome or a check engine light. I didn't think the power-fc had programmed in such a factor, but I guess I learned something new.

That solves that question. Only thing I havn't figured out yet is the OEM sizing on the S4-5 Vacuum lines for replacements. I could remove all of them and buy parts that fit. That doesn't seem to fit my current situation of driving and parking.

In the factory service manual page 2-6 and 2-7 (for an 87 anyway), it had methods for checking the rod level clearance (0-1mm) on the OMP and the output of each hose over a 5 minute period while holding the throttle at 2000 rpm.

Put the rod up to its maximum position. Says not to remove more than two hoses at a time.
Turbo: 5.2-6.6 cc
NA: 4.2-5.6 cc

Update: I looked into the pictures posted in the Link I added> This resulted in me seeing 550CC denso injectors and they're usually found on S5 rails > So was it.

This solves my other question:

Rebuilding the OMP oil injection lines

Closing thread: Thanks for the diagnostic information though.

Can't say much here for the S5-Eletronic metering pump if that works.
