Anyonne have a MASSIVELY ported wastegate??
I'm looking for anyone who has a huge port on their wastegate. I'm just curious what kind of boost you hit and how large it is. I'm trying to port mine as much as possible to eliminate the slightest possibility of creep/spike, and then raise it with some boost control. Let me know if any of you guys have any input on my plans. Thanks in advance.

I've got a S5 turbo that I have massively ported. I don't creep at all until I hit the second stage of Nitrous. My boost is set to 10psi via a manual boost controller.
My mods are in sig.

I just sold my stock turbo with a ported wastegate. I'm not sure ou could call it massive, but you couldnt go any bigger without putting a bigger puck on the WG. I also backcut it on both sides to smooth flow out a bit as well as matchported the exhaust runners as seen on Ted Koseki's site.
I was getting 7psi in cold temperatures with a hollow leaking cat, 3" downpipe, and twin scroll removed. I was also getting this as low as 2300rpm since the twin scroll was gone I beleive was the reasoning for that. The most I saw it bleed was only about .5 psi, 6.5psi in 1st and 2nd, then 7 in the rest of the gears, thats mainly due to engine loading too. That of course would be magnified with higher boost levels.
Basically, unless you get a bigger puck, you are going to get a little creep even with a ported wastegate.
Its definitely better than not porting though
good luck,
Geoff

Yes, on my 87 TII I drilled the hole so there was just a tiny rim around it to seal and put in a larger disc seal on the flapper made out of a cut down exhaust valve as well as back cutting it a bunch. W/ 3" TID mod, 2.5 RB downpipe/presilencer and fuel it would boost 7psi instantly and stayed there except it would creep in 5th near redline-slowly to 12 psi if very cold out.
Hey Scatchcart glad to see your still around
It seems everyone has luck with porting the waste gate on the s5 or Kouki. I ported mine with hopes of reducing some EGT problems on a previous car and it caused my boost to fall off in the upper RPM's. Probably because I did it wrong or something. Normally I don't have any boost creep problems with the later model cars.
