getting it started and actually runing is half the battle.

while your under there, remove the rats nest and the actuator rods and those 5th and 6th port sleeves.

Thanks!

So now that most of the nit-grit is done.....

Help me out with some paint schemes.

Satin black body, dark bronze rims, chrome lips
White body, black hood n hatch, black rims, chrome lips
Red glitter vinyl body, gold rims, chrome lips
Dark blue, black hood, white rims, white lips

Lol. Aside from the driveability work, all i have left to do on a small budget is cover the interior with fabric of some sorts (want tweed on everything. Dash, doors, you name it), install my system and start making some lost interior parts out of fiberglass resin/fabric/wood. Exterior wise, i'm going to do some funky tint to a spare set of tails, (think s4 meets s5 but not as cool). I want to do the s4 sport spoiler mod like hypertek did because it's cheap and looks good. I'm also putting a home depot lip on! I can get my hands on some stainless and start making cooling plates. I may make a lower splitter/undertray out of some cheap **** plastic and i'm going to mod my hood like dkwashererxd did with his. Also adding washers to raise it up a bit.

Still, i wish I had $550 to get a gp kit right now! Stock body doesn't look right with 002s. Maybe in pictures but not in person.

Found this a second ago.

My buddy suggested hunter green hi gloss and i kinda blew it off until:

Looks good. Real good.

Need some suggestions/input.

I know i'm *** backwards doing the 240 thing (suspension, looks, interior then save the engine for last) but i want a nice car. Not a jackstand warrior. Oh how i hate having my cars on jackstands. That's where most of them stay. I dont drive much b/c i'm a tweaker. Nothing is ever good enough for me, lol. Trying to change that with the 7.

i would say go with SHineauto body kit its simpler better quality then most of the GP sports knockoffs you'll find.

also Shade green would own.

until then grab a lip for a 89 Mazda 626
here is mine with a color matched 626 lip cost my about $15 with prep and paint was $9 form a junkyard

I used to have a 1990 626. First car actually.

Maybe it's still at blue and gold..... I doubt it. The ******* trans quit when i was hauling *** ripping the ebrake at marrington plantation on the base after watching wrc on speed channel one day. It was raining and i felt like having fun. Lol. I paid $167 for it and beat the dogshit out of it only to leave it for dead. I took my plate off, all my audio out and left it because the tranny quit. Guess how much they tried to charge me to get it out of blue and gold? $500. Lol! I told them, "have it, title's in the glove box". That was like 6 or 7 years ago.

Non-paintmatched moldings dont do it for me. Yep. Eyesore.

So green works i guess. Meanwhile, i'm going to rattlecan the whole car some common *** color like black or something. Black is always cheap.

More camber up front couldn't hurt but i have no clue how i'm going to do that. Maybe slot the camber plates more and cut into my shock tower? No, **** that. I'll just deal with what i have until i can do it proper. *smacks self*

Yeah, a snapped a pic of that bad *** car when you were over there. I haven't seen an rx8 that good looking our sounding before or since. Very nicely done car! You sir have good taste!

Glad my motor is going to good use in your car. I thought you were just going to rebuild it and sell it! Lol.

Me, you and your buddy litterally had that engine out in less than an hour! **** those fire ants though. I spilled some coolant on the carpet while pulling the heater unit (which didn't hurt it, it was already screwed) and the ants went to it like **** to a blanket.

It's a phrase i use often. I probably did **** in blankets alot when i was a wee-one. What i meant was the little bastards ate the coolant. HUGE pile of dead ants in the floor. Like a mountain. I didn't know what it was. I thought it was dirt or something until i poked at it. I was like "Holy ****, that's the ant colony that used to call this shitheap home!"

My 13b lives on!
I did regret selling it to you until i saw what you did with it. Is that my old alternator too?

Micro update:

My 12's, amp and in dash lcd are installed. They bang. Not as good as i like. I haven't installed my crossover or set the deck up yet. The stupid memory cable makes it difficult as well. If i cant get the sound i want, i'm getting a split port box. I never should have sold my last one. Soo much spl, even with some **** 400rms power bass subs held together with rtv and an american pro 600. Didn't make anything flex but my hatch did jump. My door panels flex with the doors shut with my new system. Most rotary guys aren't into that but i love car audio. Always have. My mom and dad always had a system in their cars when i was growing up so naturally i'm a bass fiend.

It's supposed to be nice all week so i'll be zeroing out my toe the best i can by eye. Hopefully i can get my fenders rolled via 'the foor jack and bat' method. Not as quick as the 'wedge bat between fender and tire and hit the gas' method but i'm sure it the end result will be better. I think i can only lower it another 3" in the front without the top outer edge of the tire scrubbing the inside of the fender above the "crease", no matter how much rolling is done. I'm tempted to trade my set of 0 offset fronts for a pair of positive offset. +25 atlest.... Better not though. I'll miss the lip and regret it when i buy overfenders. We shall see.

Rotar salvage, i dont remember your name for the life of me and since we've met, i'd rather not call you by that. Lol. Check your pm's. I asked you about those brake lines.

The punk is back for another mini picturless worthless update. What makes it worthless? The lack of pics. **** it's 2:40am. I'm not taking pictures until tomorrow.

Parts car is getting crushed! wooo! Bye bye! Good riddance. Thanks for the consentual rape! I slightly regret leaving the cv's and transmission in. Oh well. I'm too lazy to pull that **** off. Now people can park in my driveway!

So later on, spur of the moment i go over to gregs with my open diffs and weld em on up. Just incase. You know? Like if this T2 shimmed thingy doesn't work out the way i like. Felt good since i haven't welded since 2004. Lol. I love welding. It's always fun. I'm a bit rusty but if you can't mig weld, you're clearly a retard and i did such a rushed job i didn't bother to clean one of the diffs up at all. Like i litterally pulled it out of the pumpkin, bagged it, took it to the shop, pulled the ring gear and went to town on that mother.

I should have brought my extra diff mount with me so i could make it solid with some 1/4" steel like i was thinking about reading that one thread in the drift section the other night. I kinda forgot so it kinda didn't get done. Maybe later? Yeah. later.

Lol! Dropped the car 3" today past what it was sitting at in the previous pics and ran out of tire room, even with a huge pull up front and a decent pull in the rear. I might need spacers in the rear, atleast 5-10mm now depending on how much camber i remove. I got a little pull happy! LOL.

Got an idea the other day. I dont have pics (i passed out shortly after finishing. I worked on the car from 10:30 am til 2am and was up since 8am. Sun is down now) so i'll WRITE UP what i did:

I took my front wheels off first and set my coilovers then put the front wheels on.

I SLOWLY lowered the car as to not damage the fender. Prior to that i put about 2.5" of wood underneath both tires so i can still fit a jack under the car. (yes, i'm that low now).

The tire didn't bottom out on the fender but came close. My buddy jt came buy to get a honda ecu from me so i had him stick around so he could watch the process. I had him hand me tools and check things while i was doing this. Helps to have a buddy to tell you if you're about to **** up or just to talk to b/c it is rather time consuming.

My tire was tucked about an inch past the lip of the fender. Good luck getting so much as a credit card to fit in the gap.

I raised it up so i had roughly a 1" gap between the top-most part of the tire and the fender.

I rolled with the socket over and over and over again and lowered the car in 1/4" increments using the jack. Then i lowered the car all the way down to it's actual ride height and rolled some more. It's hella flush. So flush it makes me want to slap my dick on the hood and start shaking my ***. I just chuckled with a huge grin on my face when i was finished.

I did the same to the 1/4 panels but was easier by lowering 1/8" increments at a time and making ALOT more passes before dropping it any further as to not damage anything. Not that i was worried about it but as long as one side of the car looks perfect, i'm happy. Lol.

When i was finished using the socket to roll the fenders in the rear, i wasn't satisfied enough. I needed to stick something bigger in there. ALOT BIGGER. SO big it would make my fc groan in pain while i make it take the whole thing. I went downstairs (there's no stairs leading to it, it's just this **** under my house....but anyway) and looked around for something. I stopped and looked at my spare driveshaft.

"no, that's not going to work"

I tried to find some old intercooler piping or exhaust piping. That's all gone. Then i notice a rolling pin sitting on the ground. behind some scrapped fenders i'm going to use for paint practice! I pulled the axle out of the rolling pin, raised the car up some in the rear and proceeded to PULL, PULL AND PULL. NICE pull. REAL NICE. A bit TOO NICE b/c now those 255 tires zac included with my sportmaxes will now probably fit without rubbing. LOL! That's why i mentioned spacers earlier. If i remember to take pictures, i'll snap shots of how it sits now and how it sits after i mess with the rear camber some. IT looks good but i'm still bothered b/c it's not as flush as i like.

I'm pretty stoked on the pace of my build at this point. It's going to go dead for a few months, pick back up and die, maybe a few updates here and there. Next tax season though i think i may boost the car on MSNS, ebay ****, RC injectors and a holset. That should be under $1000 and the rest will go to interior/exterior. Hopefully MOST of the interior/exterior stuff will be done by then but you never know, right?

Totally. Sucks when you both get out of some deep **** and get nervous. Like, if i didn't actually care about her, i would have already done quite a bit. Girls my friend.

Fail on the lack of pics today. I'm ***** tired. Pine pollen is blowing off of the trees in clouds and that stuff messes with me pretty bad. I went outside and cleaned up all that **** left over from the parts car that fell out of it when we put it on the trailer. Also cleaned up the stuff infront of my car, put my diff pumpkins up....all that ****. Looks like a used fc parts store under my house now. After that i was going to put my exhaust back on, torque my half shafts and axle nuts, put oil in, top off the trans....some other little tidbits. Never got quite that far. I'm drowsy as hell and already had 2 big *** cups of coffee. Atleast my yard doesn't look like the outside of a shop anymore.

Ok, here we go:

Before you say anything, the wood under the tires is there b/c i cannot fit a jack under the car to work on it otherwise. Yes, a scissor jack will work but i'm lazy.

This 1/4 came out perfect

This one did not. Needs to be rolled a smidge more and i need to make with the bondo b/c that **** doesn't fly.

More rear camber than i want. Was going to fix this today but i didn't feel like it. Sue me.

I used a 1-1/2" or 1-1/4" socket with ratchet on it for the fronts. Didn't need any tape.

I just set the ride height and camber first, put a jack under one side of the car, raised it so i could get a socket in there, made a few passes, lowered the jack some more, made a few more passes. Turned out good i think for my first time and using ghetto fabulous methods.

The rear was pretty much the same deal, although i did not mess with camber. It sat pretty flush when i dropped it almost 2.5" from where it was sitting (not 2.5" from stock). I'm like, "yeah, i can roll some more and tuck some more tire for sure." I needed something bigger and the only thing handy was an old wooden rolling pin for baking and ****.... Did the job. It would have turned out alot better if my electric air compressor didn't die.
