Most warehouses are moving shifts around and are giving vto to those who want it in order to avoid layoffs.

They're moving my shift from Thursday through Sunday to Tuesday through Friday. WOOPIE!!!! I'll get my weekends back!. I'll lose a 1.35 an hour but i'll get more hours on those days to make up for it.

Oh, walmart is also on a HIRING FREEZE. Company is the only company that is showing significant growth right now among our competitors. Target, kmart, harris teeter, piggly wiggly....etc. You can check with a store but i dont think ANY of the distro center's are taking apps at this time. When ******** start getting fired for ******* up and failing **** tests left and right, i'm sure things will pick back up in that area. SUMMER TIME is the best time to check. It gets so ******* hot in the warehouses that the newbs who can't hack it quit and since nobody plans on transfering over to dry from the cold side, that's the best time to get your foot in the door.

GL and i hope you find something soon. That's definately a bummer.

Got my state check today. Chock another $700 up to the budget. Gotta text zac later today about my wheels and tires.

Questions for you guys:

1. Brake pads: I went to advanced to pick some up. For 4 piston fronts, i want 'HD' correct? Their shitty system doesn't specify 2 piston or 4 piston....... If you think i should shop elsewhere, where and please tell me i'm not going to have to pay out the ***.

2. When i go widebody, could i run a 15mm spacer f/r with my 16x8 zeros without hitting the lca, swaybar or my kit with exteneded tie rods? One member has 16x8 -12 starion rims on his car with bn aero but he's not nearly as dumped as i'm going to be so idk.

3. OMP block off. cake job? Got a link with a walk-thru, pics prefered?

That is all. Thanks for checking in.

My buddy andrew has his camera now so hopefully we'll be able to update this thread with some good-good soon. Some of you keep pming me and sending me stuff on myspace to post up new pics. I do need to deliver. Lol!

the omp is cake job. Get the grey rtv sealant! just remove the omp, and install the block off plate. I got mines from Banzai..

as far is the fitment goes, you wont really know until you try it..

I guess so.

Found your car on youtube today.....har har. Is that a straight pipe you run? No wonder your neighbors hate you.

I'll test fit the wheels as they are probably thursday before i go to work. I've gotta play with my coilovers some also. I'll make an omp blockoff out of an old starter plate i have laying around..... Used it for my homemade egr blockoff i had on my dsm.

Bought a jdm boss hub and another dished wheel like the one i have now. I was going to buy a momo hub but since this one isn't quick release and my steering wheel is a 3 bolt, it was an ok investment. We'll see how it is when it gets here. Worst case scenario, i resell it b/c it's flexcrap. Meh, i've gotta find boxes and sell my dash and interior **** asap. Still need to buy my bump steer kit, tie ride ends and ball joints while still having enough left over for a decent seat, harness, ss lines and oem pads. I should. That's for sure. Thank god i'm a packrat and have gobs of **** to sell off.

I'm going to check out a potential t2 donor car i can snake some parts from for my six port turbo conversion next week. Wish me luck with that!

Potential t2 donor car was a no go. Guy who owns the junkyard is an utter douche. **** that bitch.

Went to get my sportmaxes yesterday. Mint condition. Tires are some khumo 205/55's up front and rears are some T/A 255's that im going to have to swap out for some 195's or 205's. Otherwise, i'm going to break ****. Waaay too much tire. Probably going to rock khumos or nankang ns's. Whatever is cheaper and in stock...... Big shout out and thank you to Zac, aka "Zan_Tuning" for the dope wheels.

I'm also picking up an apexi gt catback shortly. Should sound nice. One more thing on my vast to-do list. Head to the muffler shop to get an exhaust manifold to cat pipe welded in. Good part about this is i'll have my stock cat and precats just in case. Zac has dibs on my stock exhaust so i guess i'll just have to deal with it being recockulous loud.

I just think of all the **** i have to install, buy and do and then want to punch my self in the scrot. Had i just found one of these a few years ago when i really, really wanted one, it would have been done by now! Lol!

Alrighty. I woke up and got tired of staring at my wheels in my room so i test fitted the rears with the 205-55's. Looks like to get it as low as i want it i'm going to need to roll for sure and do a 1.5-2" pull.

Craptastic.

Dont know whether to keep that tire size on all 4 corners or just run 195's up front and stick with a 205 in the rear until they're toast. Making phone calls now to tire stores so i can do pricing.

Man, if somebody has a set of ss braided brake lines or oe brake lines in excellent shape, pm me. I need em.

Ok. I haven't ordered any parts in a few days and i'm going to wait and sit tight so i dont start buying **** out of impulse and run out of money.

i was looking into hydraulic handbrakes actually. I was THIS close to buying one and upon looking at the construction of said handbrake i thought "WHY WOULD SOMEBODY PAY $250-300 FOR THAT?"

All it is is a box, handle, some lines and a master cylinder. $100, at the max is what it would cost to make one of these and if you're handy enough, welding is unncessary. So, i'm going to sit my *** down with some paper and draw something up. Yeah, i know they're illegal but i'm sure if i left a hat on it, nobody would notice.

This would kill some time while waiting for parts to come in. There is a hydraulic fitting shop up the street and i can buy a master cylinder for anything for under $40 so that's half the battle.

Lol. It happens man.

Andrew had his today when we were working on the parts car and we didn't even think to snap pictures. People kept calling. Remember that kid jt with the delsol....he called andrew's cell phone bitching and whining for me to help him about his car after he told me over myspace that he "didn't want my ******* help anymore." Then that guy chris came over telling me his car is at intense motorsports right now getting tuned. It baselined at 430 something hp and 302 tq. He works at the bagel factory next to walmart, doesn't really have any bills and since he's too dumb to do this **** himself (and admits it) he felt the need to come over and rub it in that he's having a car built that's faster than mine.

To top it off, rust fell in my eye today putting the subframe in. Luckily it came out during a bike ride. Wind made my eyes water and i cried it out. Lol.

Man, i wished you lived closer. You see the type of idiots i'm stuck dealing with.....

Thanks again for the dvds! You are the ******* man and we seriously need to grab a beer whenever you have a minute. I'm sure we can come up with a way to get your fd back on the road on the cheap! I'm very creative with doing alot with very little (Legally).

Now, onto updates.

Steering wheel came in today. JDM TITE boss hub.... I inspected it. Looks to be halfway decent. The splines look good but are off center in the hub itself. (negative feedback will be left in terms of quality.) The wheel itself is STURDY AS ****. 3 spoke style ofcourse. Like my old one but black, moar dish and even smaller in diameter. I think it's a 320. It will go on tomorrow. Dunno wether or not i should use locktite on the splines. I think i will for added safety. Coilovers are getting a once over tomorrow. Subframe comes off of my project car (but not all the way, if not for a tranny jack, we wouldn't have been able to get the one on the parts car today) tomorrow so i can do my diff and have it ready to put the rear camber arm on and dtss bushings in.

So right now, i'm waiting on the following:

DTSS
Tie rod ends
Ball joints
Camber arm

And i need to order:

Lines
Pads (decided to go with hawk or ebc green stuff after several of my friends insisted they're "day and night" over stock and with 4 piston calipers will be "****".
Secret element tie rod ends.

Eyecandy has a good point. He pm'd me about spacing my rack. He's like "if you want to get these anyway, why bother doing it and getting it aligned twice?" **** it. I'll wait and slap these bad boys on the rack asap.

As soon as i get in touch with zac, i'm pretty sure i'm going to buy a megasquirt unit as long as he'll be comfortable tuning it. Prior to boost i'd like to have good engine management and the ability to familiarize myself with it. Why not? I was planning on a full wire tuck and plug connectors for the firewall anyway. Aaroncake is also giving me a hand with the project with his infinite six port knowledge.

I'd really like to thank everyone that has been supporting me and my project. I seriously COULDN'T do it without you guys. If not for rx7club, i wouldn't know where to begin.

If Greg hasn't gotten around to welding those parts for you by the next time I'm in the area we'll take what you need done over to dad's and you can use mine. Heck, it's a possibility that I will end up being closer depending on which company (if any) hires me.

That's damn cool of you.

Andrew catoe sent me a comment on myspace today and i mentioned it to him. Just kinda let it slip like he didn't hear it so i suppose i'll just get my open diff back. I'll be nice about it and say "i dont want it welded anymore b/c it's unsafe."

Car is now on jackstands, cinder blocks again.

The front suspension is out, hub/knuckle assemblies are off (and look in need of a sand blasting). Front brake lines were pulled. Got the passenger side tie rod off. The drivers side is being a bitch and i have to get a 24mm wrench and grind it down so it will fit on the wrench flats instead of the rack. We didn't get the rear end lowered out yet b/c of that stupid *** tie rod end. Hopefully we can knock it out tomorrow. However, i do need to air up the tires in the parts car, connect the e-brake handle and pull what i'm keeping off of it b/c i want that **** gone this week so i can buy new tie rods off eyecandy!!!!!! If we knock the parts car out quick, we can get to the project car. I'll probably wake up early and remove the oil pan and slap a new gasket on it b4 my help comes over and take all my parts out of the parts car to store downstairs.

The coilovers aspecjakob hooked me up with had some minor surface rust on them that i wanted to clean off. Good ol wd 40, a wire brush and a wire wheel took ALL The rust off in no time and they look nearly new again. Glad that got done today. I think i might paint them to keep the rust from comming back before i put them on the car again. Rustoleum silver or clear should get the job done.

Um, what else...... We installed the steering wheel. Just the hub and wheel itself. No horn button, no ring cap. That's just useless crap anyway and we're going for light weight. *laughter*

I rolled the drivers side quarter a good bit. Still need to get the right side of the wheel arch finished up. 1 almost down, 3 to go.

Andrew Gopaul, Myself and my brother justin took a shitload of pics too. FTR, justin is not allowed to remove stuck bolts anymore unless it's with a socket wrench. Andrew is going to put them on disk and bring them over tomorrow so hopefully this thread will become less text and moar win. Lol.

"some work" is an understatement.

This is a ******* BEAST of a project. Meaning, there is ALOT of stuff that needs to get done.

yes, i'm going to drift with it. Read my sig.

Link to pics. I'm to lazy to html them all right now. There's alot more. They aren't the biggest but there isn't much detail to be had in them.

http://s125.photobucket.com/albums/p...and%20whatnot/

What i did today was got the parts car nearly 100percent ready to roll on a trailer. All that's left is the transmission and i'm getting it outta here.

I put the se seats in the gxl. They aren't bolted down though. I'm going to pick up some dry ice and get rid of the sound deadening. I threw the carpet in the trash since it was nasty and that stupid maroon color. I want **** carpeting. YES ****.

Um, what else. I found the oil pan isn't leaking at all so i put that back on there. Found out i need a 24mm wrench and/or socket to get the ******* oil cooler banjo bolts out so i can clean up the washers (leak issue) so i have to get one soon.

The omp looks to be leaking due to the same issue. I'm sure this isn't rotorsports racing's doing. Perhaps the guy who had the motor rebuilt just brought the longblock in and hooked everything else up himself. Aparently nobody told him that those copper washers have to be 100 percent CLEAN before you attach the banjo fitting and bolt. Those have to be clean as well so the washers seal.

Simple fix, i just didn't get around to it today.

I did roll the lip on the front drivers side fender and finished the rear drivers side fender. They're ready to be pulled. I'll do the other side some time next week. Need a 4 day break from the project AND i'm waiting for parts to get here and people to buy some **** so i can buy more parts. Still have $380 in my fundage but i'm keeping it in my savings account so i dont spend it on b/s i dont need. I've seen some really tempting audio f/s along with random cf parts and cosmetic parts i really dont need but REALLY want. Lol. Exhibit some self control brandon!

Got bored, rolled the lip on the passenger side front fender.

Traded that set of wheels i've been itching to get off my porch thismorning for a crunch 1000 watt amp and 2 mtx magnum 12" subs in a box. Should sound decent. Not a big fan of the box. I'll probably build a wall port box with more air space. (i hate tube ports). Everything was mint though. Subs weren't even broken in yet and the amp still has that ozone smell to it when you take a new amp out of the box. Nothing smelled or looked burnt and the guy seemed legit. Only reason i settled for a stereo. I was going to buy subs and a sub amp anyway. Either that or sell all my audio **** off. I've watched youtube vids of these things flexing the roof of cars/trucks. They're not fi btl 12's or re-xxx 12's but they'll get the job done for now.

Right now, i have enough audio **** to get something done. Total amount of money invested: $0. It's either stuff that came in one of my rx7's, stuff i've had sitting around or stuff i've traded for.

I've got a six disc changer, alpine control unit, interfire crossover, 6" silver series pioneer speakers, a 200 watt pioneer high amp, 7" lcd in dash reciver with 3 outputs, 3 inputs, and aux input. Going to buy some cheap tweets to install in the dash. So, this **** should bang and rattle like a Tai hooker. Only expense is going to be fat mat (cheap dynamat), tweets, wiring, a cap and a larger power wire. Possibly some sweet battery terminals, optima red top and a grounding wire kit (entire car grounding kit from sun auto or hks).

I'm probably going to get some tweed fabric this summer so i can do my door panels, headliner, cargo area and dash. I dont know if i want black **** carpeting or spray on bed liner for the floor. I'm leaning towards bedliner. Easy as **** to clean up whatever i spill when it falls out of the cupholder i dont have. I DO not like the stripped look. It's ratty and makes a stereo system sound like **** inside and outside of the car.

Meh. I think i'm putting boost last now. It's not important.

I talk a big game and keep adding to the list of **** i want done. Good news is, it feels like it's warming up a bit!

yeah, i probably wont need that. I do have an ipod. It's a 1st gen 4 gig bigger than most cell phones but it gets the job done. around 800 songs in high quality format and moar if i compress them. I'm a bit of an audiophile so i can hack 800. I just need to quit my lazy streak and put some new tracks on it and get rid of the **** i hardly listen to.

It's supposed to snow sunday and linger around for a while so no work next week. Well, not on MY car anyway.

220 mig.

On the cheap.

I know you dont play around when it comes to your stuff so i doubt i'd be able to afford what you've got. Lol. I could be wrong though.

Btw, wrapped another 2mm of tape around my plugs. I'm like 4mm away from my 22mm's now! Haha. Another month, i should have them in. Should have showed em to ya when you came by. Did you get any of that "snowstorm" last night? 601 was FUCKED UP. Anywhere over 30mph and you'd slide and not in a fun way. They really need to re-pave it between my house and walmart distrobution. It's terrible! Dry, covered in snow, covered in rain. Doesn't matter.

Megan racing heim joint/pillow ball tie rod ends are here! VERY, VERY pleased with them. Quality is top notch and they look great. Tapping on the casting with a wrech, things sounded good and solid. They def look tough enough to survive a couple of curb encounters but that shouldn't happen *knocks on wood*

Great buy for $103 shipped over the $200 mazdatrix units and they allow for extra toe adjustment...which i wont be playing with any time soon but it's good to know if i wanted to, i have the extra adjustment. No bump steer. Yay! Now all i have to do is wait on a fellow fc owner to get off his *** and pick up my roller so i can order my secret element tie rods!!!! I'm going to the machine shop today for a few things. One of them being having the end plate of my lsd machined down a few thousanths so it works right again. Just have to pull it out of the pumpkin, clean, inspect, buy whatever is broken if anything is and check the tollerances. I could do it the "wrong" way and cut up a soda can or some circles out of thin ss but i want it perfect.

Screw paying $500 for a rebuild and as bad as the roads are here when it rains. I want to run welded but now i dont want to risk it. I got scared the other day in a fwd car on the way to work! Brand new all season tires in a 3400lb car with traction control hydroplaned and slid hard going about 40mph in a 55 b/c there was so much water on the road. Slid into the median, got control, slid across the left lane into the right lane and eventually slowed down eough to regain control b/c i was going up a hill. Had i been in my rx7 with a welded....pfft. Would have been all she wrote. I dont remember who made the write up on machining the diff but i found it to be VERY informative.

I also decided that a gp sports kit is the kit i want. 100 percent not changing my mind.

Here's why.

Slide alliance's car:

This is what i want from the rear end. Must have this spoiler!

His car pulls of the s4 tails VERY well. I like s5 but i have 3 sets of s4's to experiment with! har-har!

Another member's car

I'm going for the panda look for sure but with a twist. The sunroof cover and hood are going to be chalkboard painted!

With my sportmaxes and this nasty 1/4 pannel damage

do you think i could get away with running a 25mm rear overfender and just using some spacers to get it flush. I AM going to roll them for clearance until i get a kit but i dont feel the need to toil at pulling all that ribbed-for-not-so-much-pleasure noise out. The car with the panasports on it looks to have 25 or 30mm front overs and they look nice.
