Hey, she complains about her wrecked front bumper on her jetta.

If her car doesn't look good, she doesn't like driving it. I feel the same. If i was all stanced up on wheels and the right kit and a body color that is just so smooth you'll slip and fall looking at it, i wouldn't care. Right now, the car looks, runs and drives like *** and that bothers me, alot.

I just buy stuff for her car so it all evens out, nr but i think it's even. She wants rims and her bumper fixed. I can swing that.

Hypertek, have you seen the wheels i have on the car now? Lol.

I dont think that's even close to what i want. Wheels make or break cars. ASA JH8's it is.

http://www.gtfactory.jp/cms/page.php?9

Look at this FC, that's what the wheels will look like on an fc, i'm just going to use spacers so they'll sit flush with a 30mm widebody (flexed rear 10mm or so to 40) and dropped just so i can barely get over speed bumps without messing stuff up.

I plan on drifting at this "track" that is less than 1000ft from my house. It's supposed to be a housing development but they're not building squat, it's just roads and flat grass so if i screw up, i wont break things. Plus, they'res lowes mtr speedway and darlington mtr speedway within an hour in both directions on the highway my house is off of. I'm scoping out spots on google maps here and there also when i dont have money to go to the track. Works equally well for skating and bmx!

I used to work alot faster than i am now. I just dont enjoy speeding through projects anymore. I work on it when i feel like it so it's no biggie.

Comming soon: Plugs and wires, new oil pan gasket, spring chop, shifter chop, new primmer coat. I'm going to knock all this out in one day if i can. I haven't ordered my plugs, wires or gasket yet because i'm waiting on a transaction to finish just incase i need to refund money but as soon as that's done, i'll update. I looked into fabbing a sheet metal cooling plate, sri box and undertray and i'm hopping to get started on it when the shop is cleaned out enough for me to park my car in it.

Haha. I've got alot to do besides get my rx7 ready to rock..... I'm still in the process of boxing up parts and selling them off. I just got done swapping rooms and putting up my future rotor head baby's crib........it's thanksgiving today, i have to be at work at 4:30...... Rx7 didn't get any love all week. I think i sat in it a few times and smoked a cigarette practicing my heel-toe.

While sitting on my porch enjoying a smoke just now i had an idea that may work and i was wondering what you guys think. 100 percent honest opinion, good or bad.

I was thinking of maybe installing a ball hitch on my gxl and cutting the se from the jams back and turning it into a trailer to haul tools, my bike, a couple of skateboards, drifter spares.....groceries......etc...... The bike may not fit but it sure as hell wont fit in my gxl with that welded rear tower bar.

Yay or nay? Less scrap i have to haul off and less parts to store in my basement.

I love this thread. It's the epitome of backyard mechanics and making something out of nothing.

Or is it making a good something out of a whole lot of somethings?

ffffffffffffffart can!

I did boost this n/t ***** on 8 lbs with a t25 (ive had an hks 2530gt, 2 skyline bb t25,s and eventually a dsm garrett t25 that i decided to put on after selling off the rest), open downpipe, divorced wastegate dump. She pulled quick, chirped third (9.6:1 compression, ported head). I didnt take any pictures of when she was boosted. It was short lived after blue smoke came pouring out of the turbo. Instead of adding a restrictor, rebuilding/swapping turbos, i was fed up and got rid of it.

SPecs: Starion fmic (1g smic at first), ssqv bov, dsm t25 turbo, random 2.5 inch charge piping, silicon couplers tbolts, 12 to 1 fmu, faze boost gauge, homemade fuel cut defender, 1 range colder plugs, gabriel g force struts, progress springs, gsx 16 inch wheels, 225 55 rear tires, 215 55 front tires, luk stg 1 clutch, clutch restrictor mod, window weld tranny mounts, front roll bar with poly bushings, Plus 2 degrees intake came, minus 2 degrees on exhaust or vice versa...i cant remember how i timed it, window welded motor mounts, cruise-ps-ac delete, portmached intake and exhaust, small pnp on intake side of head, Flat top neon pistons (car had relieved pistons before i spun a bearing and swapped internals).........blah blah.....

I was going to external gate her but THOUGHT a bov was more important. I should have let the bitch backspin..... It was a bitch fitting the wastegate how i had the turbo clocked and the proximity of the turbo to the fans.

Ordered some 10.5mm wires and some ngk p-plugs.

$70.25 cash money spent.

Since my old battery was pissing acid everywhere, i went downstairs rummaging through batteries and found one. Had to buy terminal plugs for it since it had the screw-type dealies. I get paid thursday, i'll sell my stock friday and by the following wednesday or thursday my check will come in and i'll have tires.

Not having parts off hand isn't motivating me to work any harder on the project right now. Lol. I still need to fix the blinkers. I did rip that stupid 7" monitor out. I found out why it was acting a fool. The po used packing tape for the electrical connections and left exposed wire where he crimped..... Jesus christ. *punches self*

My set screw shift **** no longer wobbles. Some duct tape around the shifter along with a different rubber "shim" has it solid. I can't stand driving with a loose shifter and the stock ***** feel like ****. My ******* "friend" jt still has my oem gxl **** and my momo raptor knock-off that i lent him to try out so he could pay me for one or the other later. ******* avoids the subject when i talk to him. Same guy that said he was going to hook me up with his vert wheels and whatever parts i needed. He's by no means an rx7 guy. He drives hard with a gangsta lean in a bone stock, non lowered black del sol with a fart can and steelies..... 1.5L sohc, not b16a3.

Yesterday, someone in an all red fc parked out infront of my house, waited and then peeled up the street. Dunno if you're on the forums or not but i was out to lunch. You could have knocked on the door though. We wont shoot.

Guy in red fc turned out to be my asshat honda "tuner" friend chris in a red da chassis integra. It was red and grey primmered and my brother though it was a car just like mine and said "rx7". I was dissapointed when chris showed up and then asked me for a crx wireing harness.......

Did some work yesterday but nothing pictorial worthy:

Put in a battery that wasn't pissing acid. Covered exposed ground wire.

QUESTION: CAN I GROUND THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL STRAIGHT TO THE CHASSIS VS THE HARNESS AND THEN JUST GROUND THE HARNESS TO THE CHASSIS? I WANT TO RELOCATE TO THE HATCH.

I flipped my afm the way it should be. Was going to put stock airbox in until i noticed a large restriction where the air directs from the box to the intake tube. I'm going to try to draw something up that works better and then see if i can make it happen using cardboard templates....... Yay.

I swapped out the cpu with one from my se to see if it would fix my blinker problem....no. I'm browsing the fsm now to figure out what fuses go where because my fuse box is missing hella fuses and DOES NOT HAVE A COVER. *wants to punch original owner in face*

I'm going to wire my aux ports open soon. There is no way to activate them and i can go without installing an air pump. I'll just have to deal with no power until 4k......

Plugs and wires are still not here.

Edit, found fuse box cover picture, logged in my composition notebook (yes, i always keep a notebook for my project cars, just incase the computer/internet goes down and i need help). After a nice deuce and some leftover pizza from last night i'm going to get to work before it starts raining.

Fuses are in and wouldn't ya know it, my interior lights work and so do my blinkers.

Do we have a door chime when the key is in the ignition and the doors are open? I dont....but hell, i can see in my car in the dark now. All i have to do is figure out how to get my gxl door panel lights to party on. I have so many solutions, just trying to shoot for the most simple.

sweet project, similar to want I want to do. I'm just in the long journey to find an fc with a solid chassis for a relatively cheap price, phase.

Not too hard. Just keep your eyes peeled on craigslist, the forum, modified car trader....etc.... They aren't hard to find if you're willing to drive 100, 200, even 300 miles for one.

Update on the wheel choice: JH8's aren't made staggered anymore. You get what you get and they dont have concave faces so i'm going with the rota p45r's (thanks risky devil). Same rim pretty much but concave, comes in sizes i'd actually enjoy and costs about the same.

Powered by max or bc is going to get my money as far as coilovers go. Everyone else is out of budjet and anything else is questionable. It's a 60/40 split towards the BC's right now.

COME ON W-2's. I wish we could get those a few months early. I hate this waiting bs.....

Alrighty. Seems as things didn't go quite as planned.

My lil girl was born dec 11 via c section. My gf is going to be out of work longer than expected so i'm going to help her out with some of her bills and putting tires off for now. It's pretty nice today and i'd love to install my plugs and wires, put some gas in the car and crank her up but i think i'll sit outside with my kid and tell her a story about the peanut, the triangle and the pixie dust.

Meh. I'll let this thread gather dust for a few weeks. I'm not doing much of anything but drinking coffee, stealing sleep and hallucinating my baby crying. Seriously. I'm trippin thinking she's crying all the time and i go in to check on her and my gf says she hasn't made a peep. Lol.

Things are starting to settle down finally.

I'm putting my se seats in since the ones in the car now are not for my car..... Only 3 bolts holding the seats in. THREE!

Plugs and wires are installed. Trailing coil is plugged back in. Stock catback goes on some time next week. I'll probably put the stock steering wheel on while i'm at it.

Anybody know of a good way to remove the 3m tape mazda used to put the side moldings on without eating the paint? Goo gone?

I would use a heat gun to heat up the glue... otherwise, they peel right off.

Man, seeing your car...s is in inspiration to me, because I thought that MINE was such a piece untill now, but it's really not too bad,

Good luck with the project, bro!

Girlfriend has been dropped as of 2 weeks ago. Since i was using her camera, pic updates are going to be kinda slow....

Here's what i've got going on the car when i get my tax refund. 100 percent no bullshit:

JIC magic used coilovers w/pillow *****
DTSS elims
TC sportline rear camber arm
Cheap *** tires.
wheel spacers to get rid of lateral fender gap

I've officially gotten medical bills up the *** now. I was going to buy more but this is all my budget allows. **** it. Used coilovers is better than saggy stock....

Also, since i dont care if a wreck and die, i'm welding my spare diff up. I managed to sell my parts car for $125 so here i sit making $800 profit off of an fc i paid $280. Win. I'm already plotting on buying another one. You can make a good bit of money parting them out!

I can't bear to look at those ******* mr7's anymore.

Getting a set of sportmax 002's. Kicking it old school 16x8 0 offset...... I'll buy some real jdm wheels later. I looked at a set of rays 3 spokes that were curb rashed to **** for $400 but declined as most of the **** jhot sells is garbage. I'd rather save and get some slightly used volks/rays...... I'm getting a good deal on the sportmaxes from a local. Wouldn't buy them otherwise.

Expecting my jic's this week.

Selling my mr7's to a friend who has a sentra that he wants to pimp out for $200.
Sold some random crap for $280
Sold some other random crap for $55
Trying to get some guy to pay $125 for the remainder of the car.

I pulled my diff guts out today. They're soaking in purple power now. I'm gusset welding the gears like powered by max does. I wish i had pics but alas, my ex **** took her camera with her... I should have posted her nudes all over the internet.

In about 2 weeks or whenever i get my paypal **** filled i'll be picking up a megan racing bump steer kit and eye candy's tie rods. Momo has hubs for sale for $67 shipped on ebay. I'll keep that 3 spoke wheel i have, just use a hub with it.

That's about it for now. My dtss came in. I'll wait to install it. I haven't ordered my camber arm yet due to lack of information but i'll be doing so soon.

That's all for now. l8r.

I load trucks at walmart distrobution center. I make $18.75/hr, work 10 hour shifts 4 days a week. I'm about to have some more money to play with after i move into my apartment by myself. I've been helping out my family and **** for about 4 years now so i haven't had much $$$ to play with but they'll be set soon and i can go about my business. Still have to pay back some medical bills and whatnot but they're working with me as far as payment goes and they're busting on my insurance company to pay up some ****. My out of pocket expense is going to be somewhere around $1,500 and the insurance will pay the rest.

Thanks for the support.

Rear coils are on. I have another 3.5" i can safely lower the car but where it sits now, a 40 series tire on a 17" rim sits about a half inch in the wheel well. I have ALOT of negative camber now so i guess i do need that rear arm. Crap offset= no rolling the 1/4's but i felt the need to hammer the **** out of them anyway. Gave me something to do. My jic's use a rubber bushing like the factory on the lower portion of the strut body. What i'm going to do is fill in the empty gaps with window weld while i'm swapping my diff over to a welded. While i'm running that diff, i'm going to take apart my stock clutch type and try to shim it to see if that helps it work a little better, just incase i do not like welded. Took my open diff to the shop sunday before i went to work and whenever i have time, i'll pack it full of weld and cut plates for gussets.

Upon removing the front wheels and pulling the stock struts, i noticed why my brakes gave out. Tears in the rubber lines. WHY DIDN"T I SEE THIS WHEN I WAS BLEEDING MY BRAKES? The donor car doesn't have a decent set of rubbers. They're pretty cracked and dry. So, on ebay i went and found some ss lines for $80 shipped. While i'm doing those and have to bleed the ******* brakes again anyway, i'm tossing in a set of oem pads on the front and rear. They'll be plenty fine for the time being. I want to upgrade to x-drilled/slotted with ebc green stuff pads at a later date. It's not in the budget right now.

Also, while removing the front struts i noticed my lower ball joints are completely split around their circumference and you guessed it, no more grease. There goes another $55 for replacements. QUESTION: Do they make heim joint front lower ball joints? I'd much rather have these due to their response and longevity.

I noticed my omp is leaking and the lower banjo washer on my oil cooler's feed line is leaking when starting on my oil pan. Speaking of oil pan, i'm probably going to have to raise the engine a bit OR drop the cross member. I had 2 adapters, 2 extensions, a short socket and 2 u joints and still couldn't get the front bolts.

Buddy of mine wanted my 17's for his sentra. Was going to give me $200 for them. I asked him SEVERAL times if they were 5 lug. He said "yeah" every time. He gets here with his truck, looks at them and says "you're sure they'll fit my car".
"yes, they're universal 5 lug. They should fit."
"oh ****, my car is a 4. Do they make adapters."
*facepalm*
"WHAT? How should i know? It's your car. I dont drive it or tinker with it. It's yours. You should have already done your homework. Get my hopes up for nothing.... Damnit."

I was not stoked on that.

Meh. It's been 65-70* for the past 5 days and i've got ALOT of work to do still and alot of parts i haven't ordered yet. So, until **** gets here, i'm going to help my buddy work on his integra some. He just bought a full exhaust system, camber kit, coilovers, new slave and master cylinder, stage II clutch, and some other **** i told him i'd help with so i'll probably be over there all day. I'm pissed at my car right now so i'm not going to touch it until the rest of my **** gets here.
