I am hoping to have some forced induction before tax return time, maybe that will help convince him otherwise.

Yeah. Good luck with that.

I haven't given up. I'm just at a stand still and am more concerned with riding my 20" bicycle than messing with my car right now. Progress will pick back up eventually. I haven't forgotten about my car. If i dont have more than $1k in my pocket, i feel no need to really do anything so tax season=thread updates. It's about 6 months away. Remember, i've had the car since october last year and fully understood it was going to be a long *** project.

Actually, i was going to stick a scissor jack inside my quarter panel to get a dent out and then i was like "nah, **** it. I'm going to sit inside and play ps2". There are cobwebs under my car now..... Lol.

And yes, i'm serious about 1jz swapping my car. I dont care about how "wrong" it is to do so. It's what i want.

I'll be picking up just a straight motor, harness and ecu from my boy in columbia and i will be sitting on it for a few months until i get all my shop equipment. Might just run with a w58 trans if it can take 280hp for a while..... They're cheap as ****, however mk4 and jza70 mk3 bellhousings are expensive as ****. So we'll see what i go with depending. There's a place up the road from me that will take payments and i saw the perfect a frame shop. 2 doors, no windows, just enough space for what i need to do. Free delivery, no credit check. So yeah. **** will be going down, just nothing else this year unless i fall into some money.

w58 trans is going to break with a quickness if you run it with a 1jz, don't waste your time.. the input shaft isn't strong and that is what will break.

the r154 jz bellhousings you need are brand new for $300-350 or used ~$150-250 all day.

Good luck.

Alright. I'll get the full swap then. Motor and trans connected. I'll just sit on it until i have enough for the tech2 extention and driveshaft kit.

$1500 for the full kit and some saving on fab is what i'm thinking about doing but if you've read anything in this thread, i tend to do **** the hard way. I learn alot more.

I started the car up and took it for a nice spin today. It's nice to do clutch kicked smokies n/a the whole way up my street without touching the brake. I also had fun doing a few countersteered donuts and figure 8. My mom even got in and did a bit of dori. Lol.

She said she loves how i have it set up compared to how it was before. For background information, both my mom, her father, and my stepdad have built cars before.

The only casualty was my hood latch cable. It no worky. Had a good bit of smoke comming from underhood because my omp banjo washers are leaky and the exhaust heat sheild is right there...... But i just wanted to check and see. So i've gotta pull that **** out now and put some hood pins in.

My ebrake doesn't work for ****....... Does a great job of stopping but i wanted to hit it pulling in the drive way. Didn't do much but slow me down and i really didn't feel like yanking on it. I did tighten it several times. I think my budget hydro setup will be fine since i dont plan on hitting the brakes and the handbrake at the same time. I use braking, weight transfer and clutch kick but those low speed turns, i think using the ebrake and power over would be a better technique for myself.

My neighbors hate me but i was feinding for some sideways action and tire smoke. Yes, i can smoke my tires hard n/a. again, light wheels and stretched tires, plus my suspension setting is PERFECT. No need for solid subframe bushings or anything like that. It's great the way it is. I get better and better every time i get in it. I'm thinking i need to replace some vac hoses for my booster or the booster is shot. No stopping on a dime, even though my pads are broken in by now with my street antics....... I'll get video next time.

I smile and get giddy as **** every time i play with it!

Theres more to driving than power?

I consider an N/A S4 an upgrade from my S13 ...I hope to have it looking spiffay and running nicely. It should be just as fast maybe slower in a straight line but be an all around better car in the road holding and cornering department and be more challenging to drive.

And Feint + clutch kick works wonderfully for low speed corners. I find it counter intuitive to reach for the e-brake..I cant stand having my hands off the wheel for a second. Clutch kick has never failed me...you just have to make sure you are going fast enough to be in the juicy power band when u do it!

Yeah. They are. After much headache and many droppings of the "f-bomb" i decided not to swap. If i swap in anything under hood, it will be an inexpensive bolt on affair. T2 engine w/harness (no trans) is like $800-1200 shipped and BOLTS THE **** IN.

After a few months...almost a year of taking a break from dicking around with the car and doing mad research (enough for me to GET MAD) i'm back.

Here's what i got going on in 2010:

Engine:

Full emissions block off, rats next elim, efans, special cooling modifications, duct work, throttle body modding.

Suspension: More delrin bushings. AWR individual camber links. Few diy mods I'll disclose later

Drivetrain: Hoping my clutch holds up long enough to afford a clutch that will hold around 300hp, even though i wont be making that any time soon, pinion snubber for the diff, delrin diff mounts....maybe some subframe mods if i get around to it.

Exterior: I haz bn aero, roof spoiler and i'm waiting for kuo to get his hood vent back from vis racing so i can buy it. Will probably get some T2 ganador mirros and do some other cool **** later on this year. BN kit was test fitted today and i have my work cut out on me making a $450 shipped kit fit halfway decent. I was stoked but at the same time, wasn't. Spoiler fits ******* perfect though. It should for $200 shipped.........

Interior: My nrg bucket seats are on their way. Nothing else PLANNED as of yet but i'm on the lookout for bins to replace the rear seats. If i find them, i find them. If i dont, i dont. Not worried about it.

Brakes: Rebuilding the calipers since i have some fucked issues with them, i'll be checking the master cylinder and brake booster as soon as the weather gives me a BREAK on my off days. I was going to work on the car extensively through the weekend but we're supposed to get snow. Gay.

Yeah, nothing TOO special going on. Just basic ****. Later on this year i will start gathering engine management/turbo stuff as well as buying my new wheels one at a time. How painful?! Sorry i bail'd on my build for a while. I just needed a break from cars. EVERYONES CAR. I built up a new bmx bike and just hit up the skateparks, rode street and went to the titty bar afterwards for like 8 months straight and had a blast. Now, FC is TOP priority with everything thought out logically and within my means. Building a fun easy car with as little stress on me mentally as possible.

Long post.

Alrighty, i'm out.

Word. Well, you know i don't work weekends or mondays usually. Well, at warehouse anyway.....and holy **** are you serious? FD getting work put in?! Awesome!

Slave status at work and on my car when i'm not at work. I hope to get some beer drinking and bike riding in this weekend......

Update: (yes, non foto b/c i failz at taking picutres. I wake up half asleep and start working on my car without bothering to bring it outside)

Brakes are REBUILT but not installed.
99 percent of my block off plates are installed.
ACV block off plate doesn't fit because it's for a damn TII. I have to make one or head to the machine shop with some skrilla and get one cut. I kinda want a gt wing now that i know where to get legs cut also but i need to get what i have underway FINISHED. SEAT TIME! SEAT TIME! SEAT TIME! F*ck. If i didn't buy everything i saw that i liked impulsively my car would probably running and driving and yada..... Ugly as sin and pretty much stock but driving.......

TB is like 80 percent done. I still have to finish porting it.....
Uh....I sold a seat. I figured fat people deserve to enjoy my car too.... Anyone who is above a 34" waist is going to feel cramped......
Injectors are rebuilt and cleaned, pd mod done, injector harness done, loomed, wrapped......

I started molding in the rear side molding and fixing my kicked in 1/4 panel.

Sideskirts and rear bumper are being worked.

Front bumper is pretty much done and ready for a sanding and primer. It was pretty fun learning how to use fiberglass mat and resin but so easy that even a first timer like myself got **** done. Figuring out HOW to get it done without any sort of help on the web was rather time consuming.

Oh, and next weekend i'm picking up my 17x9.5 +15 cst zero 1 hypers. I'm going to REFUSE to call them "battles". Mb may put their centercap on them but they still have a-tech cast into them. Lifetime warranty against bending and breaking!

Nothing else much to say but this:

DO not buy the cheapest version of knock off aero you can find. You'll spend as much time getting it to fit proper as you would saving up for the real thing. Also, fiberglass materials aren't exactly cheap to purchase and are rather tricky to work with. It takes a good degree of skill to get it perfect without a shitload of sanding and re-doing.... If i had paid $850 for an extreme dimensions, vis knock or even $1100 for real bn from japan i would have gained ALOT more ground on this project.

I really, really need to motivate bringing the camera out PRIOR to getting deep into work.

Welcome to haterville.......

Building a cool drift ****, not a powerhouse. I dont care about peak numbers and being faster than anyone.....

I want a setup that i enjoy within my budget and outside availability.

If you're still alive in a year you'll eat your words.

Getting out of the drag/street racing scene was probably the best thing i ever did..... Also i dont regret saving power for last. Car will STILL be damn fun to drive anywhere they're aren't speedbumps with 160 at the flywheel....

No. I'm too lazy to wire that **** up.....

I already redid and replaced most of my main and engine harness. It was NOT fun. I have to go back in there again to remove all the plug harness crap that isn't being used anymore.....

Rtek is plug and play. Power fc is pretty much plug and play. It's a toss up between either at this point.

In other news, got a pair of my battles today so i can test fit for spacer size in the rear and tire size for the front. Probably scooping up yokohama parada spec s tires for the front. I'm hoping a 215 40 will be enough grip if a 225 40 wont fit.
