That's a lot of work you have going on there. Looks really good and I'm looking forward to seeing it finished. Very time consuming, but very well worth it when you get it all finished up. Good luck!

It really is all the kind words that keep me going!Got the sub frame out last night. Took about 15 min with no power tools lol My painter came over too to give me a hand on finishing up the body work. Its the first he saw the car since it looked like this:

Needless to say, he was very impressed. Hes painting it for free just because he wants to be able to say he painted it lol Other than the little pin holes that was in the bondo and one or two small low spots he said the body work was about perfect! (good to hear, ive never done body work
)Heres a few shots of the car less subframe. I bought dolphin glaze spot putty, the package said to mix it 2 parts hardener to 100 parts glaze. How the hell do you measure that! They didnt exactly give enough to use extra either.. so we mixed it, put it on, and drank beer for 3 hours until he had to go home. The glaze finially dried over night
It was only supposed to take 30 min tops..

Heres my subframe sitting by my engine pile lol

The good thing is, about 4 more light hours of work and shes READY. Should be painted this weekend, Friday if the gf doesnt have something gay planned.
OH YEAH, Comments are encouraged

my painter is flakier than pilsburry biscuts! Called him a total of about 20 times thursday - sunday and have yet to hear from him...
Im not even sure this can be called a car any more.

There it is. Waiting to be painted. All i can really do now is sit in the garage and stare at my paint and the car and do this -->
It might get painted, some day, eventually...

Thats exactly why I turned my garage into a makeshift paint booth and painted mine at home.
And thats why I finally learned to do front end alignments........
and transmission rebuilds........
and finally engine rebuilds........
It is next to impossible to get quality work @ a decent price.
If you want it done right, do it yourself!

If i had the extra money id buy a compressor and gun and spray it myself. Were going to paint the door jambs and engine bay in my garage, and then after the car is running im going to drive it to his to paint the body. (unless he disappears again) This whole situation has me ready to flip out. I made it WAY OBVIOUS that i NEEDED it painted AS SOON AS it was ready. He agreed, i offered to pay him but he wont take any money. If its not painted by this weekend I will do it myself. I hate relying on anyone for anything. 90% of people suck

The actual wiring part is easy and could be done in a long weekend (with lots of beer).I harassed my painter last night
I got him to say "ill be there sunday, i swear" so it *should* be painted Sunday lol I even got my girlfirend to say "for the love of god please come sunday. I'm tired of hearing him (me) bitch"
Fingers crossed
Oh and I want a 60gal 2stage NOT oilless compressor, the kobalt one from lowes looks nice

You got that right. The oilless ones are not rated for continuas ? use and if you run them too long they fail in a very impressive way, slinging a rod, bursting the case and scattering stuff everywhere. I am currently w/o a compressor until I save up for a replacement!!!!

I had the car out of the garage yesterday! I literally picked the front end up and pushed it out like a wheelbarrow! I just had the neighbor girl put the jack stands back under it lol. I gave the shop a quick cleaning and then tore both doors down and sanded them. I'm going to use the impact on the door hinges, couldn't easily get them off by hand. You guys have no idea how excited I am for Sunday. I have a lot of time to just look at the car and find little things to fix or make better by then too

happy looking!
